Trump: Syrian massacre 'terrible affront to humanity'

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that it is now his responsibility to resolve the humanitarian and political crisis in Syria as he opened the door to military action in the country to remove Bashar al-Assad from power. Trump upped the ante in a Rose Garden press conference after having said earlier in the day that the the chemical weapons attack is a 'terrible affront to humanity.' 'My attitude towards Syria and Assad has changed,' Trump declared, suggesting with the statement that he may be reconsidering his administration's stance on allowing the Syrian dictator to stay in power. Trump said during a photo op with the Jordanian king and the two leaders' wives in the Oval Office Wednesday afternoon that the massacre was, 'Horrible. Horrible thing. Unspeakable,' 'But I want to thank you both very much for being at the White House and we're going to have some interesting discussions,' Trump told King Abdullah II. The White House has not said how it plans to respond to the Tuesday assault it said it was certain that Syria's dictator carried out. Trump told a reporter asking about action in the Oval, 'You'll see.'

During a White House press conference on the former National Security Adviser Susan Rice earlier on Tuesday, Trump called O'Reilly a 'good person', and said he should have settled, adding: 'I don't think Bill did anything wrong'. His comments came after a New York Times report revealed O'Reilly and Fox News paid $13million to settle four cases of sexual harassment and one incident of verbal abuse in the past 15 years. Despite the President's endorsement, Jaguar, Infiniti, and Geico were among the 50 companies that pulled their ads from The O'Reilly Factor in a list that is expected to continue growing.
