Holly Willoughby returned to This Morning on Wednesday after taking two days off work due to sickness.

The 36-year-old appeared to be on the mend as she introduced the show alongside Phillip Schofield with the cheery words: 'Hi! I'm back!'

She said: 'I didn't watch Monday because I was out of the count sleeping. I'm much better - it was 48 hours of grimness. [My daughter] Belle wasn't very well either.'

Having struggled to get through Monday's show with Rylan Clark-Neal standing in for Holly, then starring alongside his former Going Live co-star Sarah Greene the day after, Phillip couldn't help but express his relief over her return.

He said: 'If you hadn't been back today I don't know what they would have done to me next.

'They would have told me, "It's Kim Woodburn!!" co-hosting,' making a playful reference to their famous row on the sofa back in February.

She wore tan suede court shoes by Gianvito Rossi as she beamed to be back where she belongs.

During the show, Holly was having a whale of a time as Jess, Britain's most talented dog, made an appearance.

The pooch and her owner have a Guinness World Record for 'Most dog and human skips in a minute.'

Holly and Phill were mesmerised as the pooch drove herself into the studio in a toy car, with Phill exclaiming: 'She's not actually driving it is she?'

They both laugh as the dog simply stares at them, before coming over to be stroked and then rolling over for a tickle.

Holly said: 'She's so sweet. You clever little thing. You are so cute! She's smiling!'

Phill couldn't help but laugh as Jess demonstrated how she can skip, barrel roll and skateboard.

'Simon Cowell would love this,' he said, before learning that Jess' owner has already refused a slot on Britain's Got Talent.

Meanwhile, the day before, Twitter went wild for Holly's stand-in, Sarah , 58, who starred alongside 55-year-old Phillip, 23 years ago on famed children's television show, Going Live.

The show began on Tuesday with Phillip and Sarah admitting their reunion felt like being in a 'time warp'.

During the show, Phillip revealed that he and Sarah, 58, had really shared a lot during their friendship, admitting that he was once sick all over her as viewers got so excited by their reunion, they called for his puppet sidekick, Gordon The Gopher to return.

Telling viewers about the moment he was sick on Sarah, Phillip said: 'It really was a low moment for me,' he said.

'I had food poisoning after eating some oysters and I was sick all over Sarah. I really let myself down.'

Phillip said that Holly had been texting him that morning to let him know how she was getting on.

He said: 'There is some serious sickness going on in the Willoughby/Baldwin household. A sickness bug has come round for a second time.

'So poor Holly is being sick and so is her daughter Belle, so she's looking after her at the same time.'

Phillip was so stressed out, he downed a glass of amaretto live on air, during a segment on a tiramisu recipe.

But he still had plenty to stress about the next day as his former puppet pal, Gordon the Gopher is now trending on Twitter with the hashtag #bringbackgordon.

Viewers are keen to bring his furry friend, (who appeared with Phillip and Sarah on Going Live) back, but the presenter is having none of it.

'He's in rehab,' Phillip quipped. 'I can tell you now, there's no way I am working with him again.'

However, he did read out a tweet from the Gopher himself, which read: 'I'm diving in an uber now!! @thismorning @Schofe @RealSarahGreene.'
