'It would be fantastic to do something together': Justin Theroux would be happy to write a script for wife Jennifer Aniston

He's managed to carve out a successful career for himself as both an actor and writer.

And with his current series, The Leftovers, coming to a close, Justin Theroux says he's looking forward to stepping behind the camera for a while to focus on his writing.

The 45-year-old actor confessed that he would be more than willing to pen a script for his wife Jennifer Aniston, 48, in  a new interview with ET on Monday.

'If the right thing came around I would definitely [write] it,' he said.

He said they regularly discuss story ideas but have a hard time agreeing on anything.

'We toss around ideas occasionally, but it's got to be something I want to write and something she wants to act in, which is harder than you might think,' he added.

'But yeah, it would be fantastic if we were able to do something together.'

The pair have been married since August 2015, and for the most part have remained extremely private about their relationship.

They even opted to tie the knot in a secret ceremony, with guests only discovering it was their wedding after they arrived.

'It's so much more special when it's just your closest friends and family and it's lovely,' he explained. 

'We wanted it to be a peaceful environment, you don't want it to be hectic.'

Speaking of his plans now The Leftovers has finished filming, the Zoolander star simply said he was going 'to be focused on writing', but refused to give details.

The hunky actor is already behind hits including Zoolander 2, Iron Man 2 and Tropic Thunder.

'I have a few things that I've actually already written that I'm tweaking and retooling and another thing I want to write,' he said.
