The A team! Coleen Rooney celebrates her 31st birthday with idol Ed Sheeran as she joins singer backstage following live show in Amsterdam 

Coleen Rooney was joined by pop star Ed Sheeran as she celebrated her 31st birthday in Amsterdam on Tuesday evening.

The wife of Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney shared a selfie taken by the singer-songwriter after watching his latest show in support of new album Divide in the Dutch capital.

Sharing the image on Instagram, Coleen is pictured seated alongside Ed, 26, and a group of pals backstage following his performance at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.

Captioning the shot, she wrote: ‘Thanks for all the lovely birthday messages yesterday. Had a lovely day and an amazing night at Ed Sheeran’s concert.’

Coleen had previously confessed her love for Ed’s music in a series of gushing social media posts, including one in which she highlighted her favourite tracks from his latest album.

‘Ed Sheeran's new album. Love... Perfect and Galway Girl,’ she wrote. 

The WAG is no stranger to the singer’s European gigs, having previously watched him perform in Paris in 2015.

In 2014 husband Wayne, 31, delighted locals at The Sir Ralph Abercromby on Bootle Street in central Manchester by joining the talented singer for drinks following his gig at the city’s Phones4U Arena.

The pair later treatedf fellow patrons to an impromptu rendition of Ed's hit single, Lego House.    

Paying tribute to Coleen on Monday, Wayne shared a gushing birthday wish to his wife in a sweet social media post.

The striker shared an adorable photo of his long-term love cuddled up to their young brood to his 24.3million online followers.

In the snap, a smiling Coleen proved to be the doting mother as she kept her three young sons Kai, seven, Klay, three, and baby Kit, one, close as they posed for the charming photo together.

Baring quite the resemblance to their sports star father, their darling boys wore carious Adidas sports gear while one-year-old Kit sported a sweet grey marl tracksuit, emblazoned with bright-coloured words. 

Captioning the gorgeous picture, he wrote: 'Happy Birthday to my wife and the best mum to our boys @ColeenRoo.'

The WAG was clearly proud of her tot's impressive feat as she shared the milestone moment he dribbled the ball with skill before adorably getting it into the goal.

Clad in a cute blue and grey tracksuit, the toddler managed to tackle the ball better than many with years on him as he nestled it into the side of the net.
