Supportive sister: Dressed down Duchess of Cambridge leaves Pippa's house after a bridal party summit six weeks before the big day

  • Pippa Middleton, 33, is about to wed millionaire banker James Matthews
  • Her sister the Duchess of Cambridge dropped by their west London home
  • Kate met Pippa's in-laws at a dinner party at their £17m mansion last week

The family are gearing up for the much-anticipated wedding of the year.

And the Duchess of Cambridge looked every inch the supportive sister today as she dropped in on bride-to-be Pippa's west London home.

Kate, 35, visited her younger sister's house on Thursday just hours after their mother Carole paid a visit alongside milliner Stephen Jones.

Dressed casually in a white cable knit jumper, black skinny jeans and £50 Superga pumps, Kate looked keen to slip under the radar as she hid her face behind her phone.

Last week, the royal joined her husband the Duke of Cambridge for dinner with her future brother-in-law, James Matthews, and his parents David Matthews and Jane Parker at the couple's £17m mansion.

Pippa and Kate’s brother James, 29, also attended the party, as did James' younger brother, Made in Chelsea bad boy Spencer - who has recently one public with his relationship with model Vogue Williams, who he met while filming The Jump.

Spencer, 27, was also spotted near the couple's home today wearing a sleeveless jacket, ripped jeans and battered Chelsea boots.

Pippa's parents Carole and Michael were not at the dinner last week, but they are believed to be fond of their future son-in-law and approve of their daughter’s choice.

Keep it simply sporty like the Duchess in Superga trainers

The Duchess of Cambridge cut a relaxed figure as she stepped out in London today. We're used to seeing the royal in fancy dresses or sophisticated skirt suits, but here was a different story.

Kate was out and about visiting sister Pippa, potentially to discuss her upcoming nuptials and you can tell she feels relaxed around her sibling as she wore simple skinny jeans, a jumper and trainers.

It is a rare sight to see Kate in trainers, but the relaxed vibe suited the royal. Her exact pair are the classic canvas plimsolls by Superga and are up for grabs at Urban Outfitters (right).

Sporty aesthetics are bang-on trend right now and wearing trainers as day-wear instead of reserving them for the gym is commonplace, so the Duchess proved she can keep up with trends.

If you want to see other similar pairs, head below for alternatives by the likes of Converse and Fred Perry. Wear yours with jeans like Kate or pair with a cute skirt or pretty tea dress to add a cool contrast.

Rumours have been swirling surrounding Pippa's big day, as she prepares to tie the knot with James this spring, with the details so far kept under wraps.

Her millionaire banker fiancé popped the question last summer with a dazzling diamond ring worth an estimated £200,000.

James reportedly asked Pippa's father for permission for his daughter's hand before getting down on one knee.

'James is a traditionalist and very much wanted to do things properly. That meant getting his future father in law's consent,' a friend of the couple told the Daily Mail's Richard Kay.

Now, the big day is just weeks away after the bridal party including Pippa's sister the Duchess of Cambridge jetted out to Méribel for a skiing hen party.

Pippa, 33, was already living in the house, where James has reportedly installed his-and-hers dressing rooms, at the time of their engagement in July last year.

Her father, Michael, who is believed to be hosting the wedding reception at his Bucklebury home, said in a statement at the time: 'Carole and I are absolutely thrilled with the news. They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together.'
