When Hilary Duff stepped out in New York City on Friday, she didn't take any chances as far as chilly weather was concerned.

The 30-year-old actress had not only flung on a large colorful hoodie, but had added a denim jacket with its sleeves slightly rolled up as well.

Her hair wound into braids, she'd accessorized with a pair of tortoiseshell butterfly sunglasses and a massive black handbag at her right forearm.

The Lizzie McGuire star had slipped on a pair of black and white Nike sweats that tightened about her legs, completing the look with open-toed fuzzy slippers.

She's been in town filming the fourth season of her TV Land series Younger, starring Sutton Foster, and has been spotted during shoot days out on the city streets.

The mother of one had been seen Sunday last wearing an eye-popping red and pink jacket while playing a walk-and-talk seen on the pavement with Molly Bernard.

Dishing to Vulture about the show while its third season was airing last year, she'd confessed that 'I was' initially reticent about the gig, given TV Land's reputation.

'At first I was like, TV Land? I don't watch anything on TV Land,' she confided. 'When you think of TV Land, you typically think of reruns and older stuff.'

On the other hand, the mother-of-one 'was immediately hooked with the fact that it was Darren Star running the show. A few years ago, television transitioned into people not really being fans of the network, but rather following the show.'

As she recalled, 'AMC a few years ago, for instance, didn’t have anything that I wanted to watch before The Walking Dead. So I think people are getting more interested in shows and not caring about the network that’s providing it.'

The upshot was that 'I was excited that Younger was at the forefront of rebranding that network. They’re being bold and letting us be bold.'

To hear her tell it, 'I trusted Darren, and our writers and cast are so great. We got to be on a network that let us really go there, you know?'
