Child at heart! Ed Norton keeps low profile in hat and shades as he rides scooter alongside son Atlas in NYC

He may be nearing 50 and is a longtime actor of over 20 years.

But Ed Norton certainly still seems to be a kid at heart. 

The 47-year-old actor rocked a baseball cap and sunglasses as he stepped out with his four-year-old son Atlas on Thursday.

The father and son duo made the sidewalks of Manhattan their playground as they rode around on toy scooters.

The adorable tyke followed his father's lead as he kept safety first in a turquoise bike helmet. 

Ed helped Atlas cross the street by carrying his scooter for him. 

The golden haired toddler looked like an old pro as he steadily rode the toy scooter alongside Ed.

The Oscar nominee kept it casual for spring in a dark graphic T-shirt and grey slacks.

Atlas is the only child of Ed and his wife, Shauna Robertson, 42. The couple met in 2006 and married in 2012.

Ed and Shauna often eschew the public gaze, and even went as far as keeping both their marriage and the birth - and name - of their son a secret.

Only after the youngster celebrated his second birthday did the parents reveal they had chosen the eccentric moniker of Atlas.

Ed had taken a break from Hollywood for two years, but recently returned in Seth Rogen's raunchy animated comedy Sausage Party, playing a bagel.

He also appeared in the Will Smith drama Collateral Beauty, which hit theaters in December.

Up next, the star will reunite with his Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom director Wed Anderson to voice a character in a stop-motion comedy called Isle of Dogs.
