BGT contestant Jess Robinson shocks Simon Cowell as she flawlessly impersonates Cheryl in incredible audition

In the hotly awaited 11th series of Britain's Got Talent judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon are back to search out gifted Brits.

And Simon was in for a shock as contestant Jess Robinson strode on stage and flawlessly impersonated his friend and former X Factor co-host Cheryl, in scenes to be screened on Saturday night's show.

Impersonator Jess wowed judges when she launched into a series of impressions, which revealed not just a skill for mimicry, but some seriously impressive vocal styling.

Cheryl wasn't the only star that Jess impersonated as she brought to life Shirley Bassey, Julie Andrews, Britney Spears, Sharon Osborne and Katherine Jenkins in her audition.

She immediately captured the audience's attention as she sang the soaring Shirley Bassey Bond film soundtrack Goldfinger.

Jess seamlessly slipped out of the Welsh singer's sultry tones as she opened her mouth to become Maria from the Sound Of Music.

Host Ant McPartlin, watching from the side of the stage, was already impressed, turning to the camera and saying: 'It's good!'

Next up Jess became pop princess Britney Spears, perfectly imitating the star's nasal moans and long pauses on her track Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman.

The impersonator took a break from singing with her next, frankly terrifying, impression of Sharon Osbourne talking to Simon.

As soon as he heard the voice of his old friend and co-host, the BGT judge grinned.

Jess made the audience gasp as she began to sing perfect opera in her impression of soprano Katherine Jenkins.

But there were giggles to come as she morphed into Cheryl.

Jess strutted across the stage singing 'fake, fake, fake', before perfectly mimicking Cheryl's warm Geordie twang and saying: 'Well yous wouldn't recognise me voice if I sang.'

She closed her audition with a flourish by impersonating Liza Minnelli singing Cabaret, causing the audience to break out in applause.

Fans will have to wait until the episode airs on Saturday to find out if Jess's cheeky mimicry ensured she went through to the next round of the talent competition.

Simon is known to have a complicated history with Cheryl, whom he helped rocket into super stardom when he offered her the role of judge on X Factor.

She proved to be a huge success, but the pair fell out when Cheryl was unceremoniously replaced as a judge on the US X Factor after just two weeks in the job.

The paor went on to mend their relationship and when Cheryl quit the UK X Factor last year she went out of her way to thank Simon for his support.

She said: 'I want to thank everybody I have worked with along the way, especially Simon who I love to bits.'

The Fight For This Love star recently became a mother for the first time when she gave birth to a baby boy earlier this month with One Direction star Liam Payne.
