'Tired of seeing this s**t': Fans accuse model Shanina Shaik of 'cultural appropriation' after she debuts braided hairstyle for Coachella festival
She's the Australian model known for her striking natural looks.
But despite never putting a foot wrong on the catwalk, Shanina Shaik has sparked controversy with her latest hairstyle.
The 26-year-old shared an Instagram photo on Thursday of herself wearing braids ahead of the Coachella music festival.

But several fans were quick to criticise the photo, with some even accusing her of 'cultural appropriation'.
Shanina, who is of Lithuanian, Pakistani and Saudi Arabian descent, showed off her Coachella style with her 894,000 Instagram followers.
She wrote in the caption: 'Looking right for the festival.'

'You look beautiful but this is cultural appropriation,' one fan commented. Another wrote: 'Tired of seeing this s**t. No.'
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Shanina's representatives for comment.
Meanwhile, other social media users defended Shainina, claiming she was entitled to wear braids because of her heritage.

A fan wrote: 'She is of middle eastern ancestry and they wore braids too... Why are only women fighting over this stuff while blk men fight over job security and safety? This is catty (sic).'
However, another comment read: 'I am Middle Eastern too and our braids don't look like these at all'.
It is not the first time a celebrity has been accused of cultural appropriation because of their braids. Kylie Jenner faced similar accusations in 2015 after sporting cornrows on multiple occasions.
