'Every day I watch her take on so much, caring for everyone around her and continuing my dad's legacy. That is no light task by any means,' she added, about her late father, Steve Irwin.

'She runs Australia Zoo and continues all the important work of our nonprofit organisation Wildlife Warriors, on top of taking care of thousands of acres of conservation land and making sure Dad's work lives on.'

Bindi added how Terri looks after her and brother Robert, 13, so well.

'On top of all this, she is always there for both myself and my wonderful brother. I wish every day that there was a greater word than "love," she really means everything to me.'

'No matter what my question or problem, she has the answer. When I need a hug, her arms are always open. She makes me laugh and smile like no one else and she understands more about who I am than I do! I'm unbelievably blessed and grateful every single day to have a mum as breathtakingly gorgeous and kind-hearted as she is.'

More recently, Bindi shared a sweet family shot of herself, Terri and Robert to Instagram, gushing: 'My everything. I don't think "I love you" will ever be enough. My beautiful Mum and incredible brother. So much love and happiness in one picture.'

Bindi is currently dating American wakeboarder Chandler Powell, 20, with the pair spending Easter together and decorating eggs.

Bindi recently told the Today Show about the first time she met Chandler in late 2013, saying she was struck by his good looks as she gave him a tour of Australia Zoo.

'I met him and his family and went "Gee, he's not too bad is he?"' Bindi said.

But it was a chivalrous move from Chandler that saw the two keep in touch, after the champion sports star sought consent from her mother.

'He actually wrote to my mum and asked her permission to stay in touch with me, which was lovely.'
