The Modern Family star headed out to lunch in the black midi dress which clung to her famous curves.

While simple, the actress turned heads in the dress as she strutted down the street.

Sofia wore the LBD with a pair of strappy platform tan heels which matched perfectly to her handbag.

The actress wore the bag unusually so it sat across her body and covered her mid-section.

Aside from the gold chained bag, Sofia accessorized with a pair of square sunglasses and a necklace that had a number of pendants hanging from it.

Adding just a touch more bling, the Colombian beauty wore gold hoops.

Sofia's long sun-kissed brown locks were out and straight so her hair flew around as she trotted along.

The 44-year-old shared a self-deprecating montage of herself attempting to mount a pool inflatable, and not very smoothly either.

'Girls..this is how u graciously get on your pool bird #gettingreadyforsummer,' she wrote in the funny snap.

While she may have meant to say 'gracefully' rather than 'graciously', her form was neither.

Dressed in a cute blue and pink summer dress, the actress futilely tries to stabilize the giant flamingo, before clumsily clambering aboard.

She did manage it in the end though, as she shared a second shot from the center of the pool, arm raised triumphantly and - crucially - dry.

'It feels like summer in LA!!!' she captioned the tidier of the two.

On Tuesday she confirmed to People that she had indeed been cast as a tiny picture from a cellphone text keyboard.

'And she is always doing the Flamenco. She does it in the morning when she gets up, she does it when she’s eating, she probably does it when she’s sleeping. It makes things like driving or putting on her makeup very difficult,' she revealed.

The Colombian beauty tells the magazine that she's often compared to the commonly-used emoticon.

'I thought it was going to be a perfect role for me because people are always saying that I look like her.'

The animated film takes place in Textopolis where all of the characters can only experience the emotion or action they represent.

One character named Gene, voiced by T.J. Miller, was born without a filter and can experience all emotions.

Gene leads his fellow emojis on an adventure to find the code that will allow him to fit in with his one-note friends.
