Gayle King's colleagues had a lot to say about her recent trip to Tahiti with Barack and Michelle Obama.

A source told Page Six that the CBS News Anchor's 'Capital J journalist' colleagues are 'pissed and raving' mad that she was on a yacht with the Obamas over the weekend'.

The source continued: 'The old-school people that were talking about it. She shouldn't be doing that.

'She's an anchor of a news program that covers the White House. You're held to a different standard. It's one thing to be friendly. It's another thing to go vacationing on a yacht'.

King vacationed with the Obama's on David Geffen's yacht in Tahiti earlier in April, joined also by Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen and Oprah Winfrey - a close friend of King.

Her 'CBS This Morning' co-anchor Chalie Rose reportedly was among those not happy about the trip.

'Charlie wasn't pleased. I thought he and Gayle got along, but when things like this happen it makes the show look bad,' the source told Page Six.

However, a spokesperson at CBS said that these claims were completely fabricated.

'There's no truth of any of that. We love Gayle King. Sounds like sour grapes,' the spokesperson said.

The former First Couple joined celebrity guests on music mogul and billionaire David Geffen's superyacht Rising Sun on Friday, making quite the splash as they arrived at the vessel off the island of Mo'orea in a spruced up speedboat.

Once on board, the Obama's played tourists, posing romantically on the upper deck while they had their photograph taken.

The stunning 454ft-long yacht was built for Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and bought by Geffen in 2010.

Aside from a handful of visits to New York City, where their eldest daughter Malia, 18, is taking part in a film production internship at The Weinstein Company, the Obamas have largely been out of the country since January 21 when they officially handed over the White House to Donald and Melania Trump.
