And Lorde treated fans to a stunning performance as she took to the stage at Coachella on Sunday. 

The 20-year-old put on a sultry display in a black sequin jumpsuit as she belted out her hits during the second weekend of the festival in Indio, California.

Showing off her svelte figure in the strapless number, the Royals hitmaker looked sensational as she delighted the crowd with an energetic performance.

She accessorised the jumpsuit with a netted choker necklace, adding a touch of cool with a pair of Adidas trainers.

Wearing her tousled raven locks down over her shoulders, she accentuated her eyes with a copper eyeshadow, finishing off with a rose-tinted lip gloss.

Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor, has revealed that heartbreak inspired tracks from her new album Melodrama, following her split from long-term boyfriend James Lowe. 

Speaking about her new single Green Light, she told Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show on Apple Music: 'It was my first major heartbreak.'

She added: 'It's not something that I really am used to writing about. It took me a while to be able to figure out how to write about that.'

Despite her success, the singer recently admitted she can be very critical of her own music.

Speaking to Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1, she admitted to hating listening parties, explaining: 'It's embarrassing - 'listen to this thing I've made.

'There's never a perfect moment to transition to your own music in a social situation.

'It's more awkward for me because I think everything I do is terrible, I'm so self-deprecating.'

The 17-year-old threw on a denim jacket over the top, adding a pair of silver heeled boots to finish off the ensemble. 

She later put on a red helmet as she performed with producer and DJ Marshmello during her festival set.
