A hallway on the 17th floor was sealed off by police last night
A county spokesman said a hotel security guard was injured when he tackled one of the blazes.
Metropolitan Police Department Lieutenant Steve Summers told the Las Vegas Review-Journal a man was in custody facing charges of first-degree arson and burglary.
Lt Summers said last night the fire did not appear to be politically motivated 'on the surface' but he said it was too early to be sure and the investigation was ongoing.
Fire Department spokesman John Steinbeck said 'multiple devices' were placed in various locations with deliberate intent to start fires.
KTNV reporter Tom George tweeted a picture of the crime scene and wrote: 'Looked like man stuffed towels in toasters, first fire in women's bathroom at pooldeck, then another on 17th floor.'
