'She is full of s***': Caitlyn Jenner cringes as biographer Buzz Bissinger denounces Kris Jenner on chat show

Caitlyn Jenner's biographer said Kris Jenner was 'full of s***' and has only been slamming her new memoir to gain storylines for Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Buzz Bissinger, 62, spoke in defense of Caitlyn during an appearance Tuesday on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Kris was shown during Sunday's episode of the family's E! reality show telling her daughers of the memoir: 'I read it and basically the only nice thing she had to say was that I was great socially at a party one time'.

Bissinger, who won a Pulitzer in 1987 for investigative reporting in Philadelphia, cut off Caitlyn when Seth asked her about Kris's complaint of her portrayal.

'Kris, I don't know how to say this, she is full of s***, she is full of s***,' said Bissinger who co-authored Jenner's book The Secrets Of My Life that was released this week.

Bissinger then listed several positive things that Caitlyn had written about his ex-wife in the book – including references to their love, her parenting skills and business acumen.

'If you were with someone who had breasts from hormones, who was taking hormones and later had to have those breasts removed, wouldn't you start to think that something was up with that person?' scoffed Bissinger, who appeared with Caitlyn Jenner on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday night.

'So I don't know what she's talking about except that it's fodder for her fr*cking show, that's what I think,' continued Bissinger, who wrote the 1990 nonfiction book Friday Night Lights that was adapted for TV and film.

'We really worked to not be mean spirited [In the book], to be honest and I feel that was accomplished' said Bissinger.

'It's 65 years in the making…thousands and thousands of pages of memoirs, of talking about everything. The most important thing, for me, in doing this book was honesty, I had to be as honest as I possibly could,' said the 67-year-old, who used to be known as the Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner.

'I told things in this book that my family didn't know I was doing, I didn't even know what I was doing!' she added.

'It was a long struggle, but it's funny, I tried to keep humor in it because I think humor is extremely important,' she said.

'This is such a marginalised community,' Caitlyn continued, noting the high rate of suicides among trans people.

The book is not written in a linear format, but flips back and forth through time.

'I want to make it clear this is Caitlyn's book, I'm kind of the midwife, I used my technical skills to put it together,' said Bissinger.

In the tome Jenner said that sport, marriage and family life were a 'diversion' from her problems - a comment that infuriated her children.

'I got in trouble with my family because I said they were a diversion and they were all, 'Oh, so that's why you had us, for a diversion?'' And I go ''No, no no''.'

'It was a diversion from myself,' she explained.

'So I'd never have to deal with myself'.
