'The best show yet!' Davina McCall is praised as the saviour of ITV's ailing Nightly Show as she joins as host.... after quitting Twitter over backlash fears

Established comedians David Walliams and John Bishop faced fierce criticism on social media when they hosted ITV's new late night programme The Nightly Show.

And so Davina McCall decided to quit Twitter for a week when she hosted the show, expecting a deluge of mean-spirited tweets, only for her appearance to be declared a success.

The 49-year-old presenter informed her followers that she would be off the site until Saturday because of her hosting gig - and told the haters to 'fill yer boots'.
