The duo clashed on Wednesday after Brunetti accused Baldwin of lying in his new book by claiming he did not know co-star Nikki Reed was '17' while filming R-rated drama Mini's First Time in 2006.

'And Hollywood producers like Brunetti never do anything shady or unethical?' Baldwin wrote in response to a Hollywood Reporter piece about the allegation, kicking off the brutal back-and-forth.

'Name something I've done shady or unethical, Alec. You lied, face it, admit it and move on. I'm not afraid of bullies like you,' Brunetti tweeted.

Baldwin responded: 'SAG rules require releases for scenes involving physical contact with minors. I take you have a copy of that? Look at it as good publicity for that stunning work of yours on 50 SHADES OF GRAY.'

The producer then tweeted back: 'If required, I'm sure there is one. But really, are you going to continue to deny that you didn't know she was 16?? I'll bury you.'

'I was told she was 16 by her hairdresser. At the end of the shoot. You're already buried,' the actor and comedian replied.

'Dana, produce the releases, you Hollywood zombie, and you're all good.'

But Brunetti was not content to take the dig laying down, and wrote back:  'I'm sure SAG has them. Contact them. You're the one maligning me and will need to defend and retract your lies.

'The movie was written by her and about her and highly publicized that it was her age. Only a idiot like you would not pick up that / deny it.'

Baldwin hit back with another insult: 'Only a Hollywood idiot like u would suggest that a film title is a birth certificate. No wonder Spacey fired you.

'Put down that 50 Shades part 9 script you're reading and trot on over to SAG! Pronto!'

Brunetti then sarcastically offered the actor a part in his upcoming film, tweeting: 'Don't be jealous. I may have a part for you in it.'

But Baldwin didn't seem interested, and instead spruiked his new network show.

'I'm doing @MatchGameABC so I don't have to work w guys like u...'

The producer replied: 'You mean my Oscar nominated films? Nice plug by the way... And again, I suggest you contact your agent so he can warn you of the waters you're wading into.

'So it is either you lied or are a daft idiot who claims you didn't know the age of your costar you spent weeks on set with. Which is it?'

He then called Baldwin a 'douche nozzle' in another tweet.

'I would never wade into any water w someone who uses the phrase "douche nozzle",' Baldwin retorted, before offering up something of a backhanded compliment.

'Dana, you're very funny. Untalented, but funny. I'll see you at the 50 Shades of Gray restaurant opening.'

The spat came after the House of Cards leveled his massive allegation against Baldwin on Wednesday.

In his memoir, Nevertheless, the 59-year-old star said he 'flipped out' when he found out Reed was underage.

Brunetti posted a 11 tweets he alleged proved Baldwin was not telling the truth, before sending out another message that read: 'The problem with Hollywood is they cower to blowhard bullies like @ABFalecbaldwin. He can't handle when someone like me stands up to him.'

Earlier in the day, he wrote: 'My first indie film was Mini's starring @AlecBaldwin who knew @NikkiReed_I_Am was 16 (not 17) and he didn't mind.'

'I flipped out': Alec was 47 when he filmed the scenes with a 16-year-old Reed for the film

'In fact @NikkiReed_I_Am was 1 of 4 actresses @AlecBaldwin had approved and her being the only 1 of those 4 repped by HIS own agency CAA.'

It continued on for eight more tweets, before he offered up a helpful wrap to anyone who had not read the preceding messages.

' So to summarize, @AlecBaldwin knew NikkiReed_I_Am was 16, didn't find out AFTER filming, and did not yell at us.'

The movie he was talking about, Mini's First Time, is a 2006 independent film produced by Kevin Spacey's production company, Trigger Street.

In it, Alec as a married man who has a torrid affair with his step-daughter - played by Reed.
