Beauty and the best: Lucy Hale's blue eyeshadow, Janelle Monae's DOVE hairstyle and Gwen Stefani's curls top this week's list of head-turning looks

Last week in beauty was all about Coachella, and we have no doubt that next week will be 100-percent focused on Monday's Met Gala.

Right now, however, the hair and make-up looks grabbing our attention come from the red carpet and the small screen. From Gwen Stefani's disco curls on The Voice to Lea Michele's braided, bubble ponytail for an Armani party, the styles seen at some of the week's less famous events gave us inspiration for days.

Below, we detail our five favorites and offer tips you can use to copy them at home.

LEA MICHELE

Bubble braid: The cool hairstyle Sarah Potempa gave Lea Michele, 30, is easier than it looks to do at home if you break it down into three sections

Lea, 30, is known for letting her good friend and longtime hairstylist Sarah Potempta experiment with her long, wavy brown hair.

The pair created a wow-inducing style for an Armani event in New York City last night. And while the braided, segmented ponytail might look hard to achieve, it's actually not too bad when you break it down.

First Sarah pulled Lea's hair into a ponytail. (Note: If you're going to try this at home and have short or medium-length strands, add clip-in extensions for extra length.)

She  secured the ponytail with an elastic and then did a regular, three-strand braid about a third of the way down the ponytail and secured that section with another elastic. If you want to cover the elastics with hair, be sure to leave a one-inch piece out of each braid that you can then wrap around the hair tie.

Next, Sarah made a fishtail braid down the next third of Lea's ponytail and secured with another elastic. For the final final segment of the braid, she returned to a three-strand plait, tied off with an elastic at the end.

Once the braid segments were created, Sarah gently pulled apart the braids for a more modern, less juvenile effect.

If your hair is fine or freshly washed, we recommend applying a texturizing product like Redken Fashion Collection Braid Aid 03 before you begin.

BELLA HADID

As one of the buzziest models of the moment and a face of Dior, Bella, 20, knows a thing or two about beauty.

Her shortcut to chic while out and about in New York City Tuesday was matching her manicure to her lipstick. The deep berry shade paired unexpectedly well with her statement yellow coat and newsboy cap.

Janelle Monáe, 31, had a moving reason to wear white doves in her hair for the Marie Claire Fresh Faces party at the Sunset Tower hotel in LA last Friday: It was an homage to the one-year anniversary of Prince's death.

Janelle posted a closeup of her hairstyle, created by Nikki Nelms, on Instagram with following caption:

'I must admit, It's still very painful to listen to any of your music, watch videos, recall stories, hear your voice recordings anywhere online, etc. Nothing I try and write lives up to how you impacted my life. Tweets, Instagrams, nothing,' she wrote, referring to the late artist and his 1984 single 'When Doves Cry'.

LUCY HALE

Dynamic duo Lucy Hale and her make-up artist Kelsey Deenihan pulled off another incredible make-up feat.

For a shoot for Bustle, Kelsey gave the 27-year-old actress a bright periwinkle eye that screamed 'spring' in the best possible way.

She kept the rest of the Pretty Little Liars' star's make-up minimal, allowing the eyeshadow to shine against the bright green backdrop of the set.

GWEN STEFANI

Big hair, don't care: The curls Gwen Stefani, 47, wore on The Voice Top 12 show fit with her 'modern disco meets '80s glam rock' vibe

'Today was all about modern disco meets '80s glam rock,' wrote Gwen, 47 on her website about the hair, make-up and fashion look she wore for The Voice Top 12 live show.

While her glittery eye make-up and graphically patterned rhinestone mini-dress stunned on stage, it was her major curls that were truly showstopping.

To get the singer's 'textured bountiful hair', stylist Danilo said to first saturate towel-dried hair with leave-in detangler like Pantene Pro-V Moisture Mist Detangler and comb through.

Then, make a deep side part and mist hair in sections with volumizer. (We like Alterna Haircare Caviar Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist.)

When hair is dry, curl small sections of hair with a narrow curling iron and mist with hairspray.

'Wrap, set and pin to cool,' wrote Danilo. 'When ready, comb through with fingers (for a fuller frizzy look, brush out every other curl). Finally, smooth sides and secure with a comb or hair pin, add a little extra spray for the insurance. Now go and get!'
