From rags to Ritchie! Madonna's son Rocco smartens up his look as he steps out in a patterned sweater with baggy jeans for day out with pals

Unlike many other celebrity offspring, Rocco Ritchie has long appeared to march to the beat of his own drum when it comes to making sartorial choices.

And while the son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie has often embraced a more dressed-down skater style, the 16-year-old opted to smarten things up when he stepped out on the streets of north London with pals on Friday afternoon.

The teen turned heads in a blue-and-white patterned sweater over a black polo top, with punk-inspired baggy jeans with red braces and Dr Marten boots.

With a silver chain peeping out over the top of his sweater neckline, Rocco sported his signature skinhead look as he stepped out with a freshly shaved head.

And while the youngster made his way to a local eatery to pick up a bite on the move, he didn't appear to be particularly thrilled with his choice, as an eyewitness tells MailOnline that he the food item on the pavement before going about his day.

Rocco, who is currently based in London with his father, recently returned from a trip to New York City, where he and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull stayed with his mother.

Rocco and Kim, 17, likely have much in common, with Guy's famous parents having established careers in the arts and Kim's late grandfather a celebrity in the art world.

Beyond Time: William Turnbull, a 2011 documentary about the legacy of the secretive Scottish artist, was even narrated by actor Jude Law.

Kim is also making a name for herself in the entertainment world; she walked in the Maharishi show at the London Collections: Men AW15 in January of 2015.

And the late artist's mighty influence has likely had an effect on Kim, as she's known to enjoy designing when not modelling.

Kim has run in the same circles as Rocco ever since he moved back to London in December 2015.

The pair are often seen enjoying al fresco dates in the English capital, with David and Victoria Beckham's son Brooklyn often in their company.

Kim even joined Rocco's siblings - Lourdes, 20, David, 11, and Mercy, 10 - on their recent family skiing holiday to Verbier, Switzerland.
