However, the reality star's comments fell rather flat with some viewers since she has been relentlessly promoting her digital ventures on social media since the interview.

Kim encouraged her followers to purchase her mobile apps - including her Hollywood mobile game, which generated $71.8 million last year - and splash out on her Kimoji merchandise.

She tweeted: 'A lot of the #Kimoji merch is SOLD OUT!! Go to kimoji.com to see what's still available!'

In 2016, Kim's personal fortune was estimated at $51million with her Instagram endorsements, the Kimoji app - a $1.99 Kim-based series of emojis - and her personal app bringing in some serious cash.

The star launched her latest range of products at the start of April, with one particular item, The Kimoji Butt Pool Float causing a stir due to its $98 price tag.

During her TV appearance, Kim insisted she was a changed woman and had turned her back on her materialistic ways.

Her voice wavering, she told chat show host Ellen: 'I know it sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me.

'I don't want to start crying but I know it was meant to happen. I feel like I'm such a different person.'

'I don't want to cry anymore. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things.'

Kim was handed a tissue by sympathetic Ellen and encouraged on by the audience with a round of applause.

There were 17 people arrested in connection to the armed robbery and ten have been charged so far.

The thieves stole an estimated $10million worth of jewels including her 20 carat engagement ring.

She explained that she was a completely different person because of the ordeal, and no longer boasts about her wealth and her designer wares on social media.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians favourite explained: 'It was probably no secret, you see it on the show.

'I was definitely materialistic before, not that there's anything bad with having things and working hard to get those things. I'm really proud of everyone around me that's successful.

'But I'm so happy that my kids get this me, that this is who I am raising my kids. I just don't care about that stuff anymore. I really don't.'

'Of course when you get engaged you're going to show off your ring, if you get a car - no matter what it is - you feel really proud and you might show it off on social media.

'I'm not here to show off the way that I used to. It's just not who I am anymore.'

Kim admitted that she is now hyper aware of her security and needs several bodyguards outside her door in order to sleep at night.

The brunette beauty, who cut a demure figure on the show in a classic off-the-shoulder dress, ditched all jewellery for her television appearance - and revealed she had changed her image because she doesn't want to draw attention to her wealth.

She recalled: 'Meeting with my attorneys and knowing the information that I know now, [the robbers] had been following me for two years.

'They had heard interviews that I did, getting excited about this jewellery and that jewellery. I truly don't know if I'd ever feel comfortable wearing jewellery anymore, or wearing real jewllery again.

'My whole life has changed in terms of how I travel and my security. I never thought I would need security staying outside of my door.

'I should have had a security guard outside of my door. Now I have several just for me to be able to sleep at night.'

Modernize your LBD like Kim

Kim Kardashian has re-emerged after her horrific Paris robbery and she's a changed woman. Just check out her new minimalist, modern style.

Sure she's still about all embracing her curves, but there's this simplified, streamlined aesthetic to her look.

She's wearing Balenciaga's fitted mini sheath dress for her appearance on Ellen and we love how versatile this dress is. It gives a nod to the must have off-shoulder trend of spring 2017 but maintains an austere vibe.

It's a building block piece for any wardrobe. Pair it with a leather moto jacket, and cut out flat boots for a perfect downtown, model off duty look. Or dive into your diva side with a pair of sparkling Giuseppe sandals. Or take note from Kim and style it with sexy minimalism by pairing this dress with some barely there sandals.

Head over to Barneys to buy this exact dress now or check out our edit for the look for less. Looks like her little sisters' line, Kendall + Kylie, have a spot on look alike for under $100!

Kim discussed the events of the terrible evening with Ellen, recalling the certainty she felt that she was going to die at the intruders hands.

Holding back tears for a second time as she mentioned her family, she said: 'Automatically, your stomach drops, it's a feeling you just can't describe. I said a prayer, I said I know I'm going to heaven, I hope my kids and my husband are OK. You're making me cry...

'It does happen really fast, it was a good seven or eight minutes of torture, but when I look back and I analyse it, it could have been worse.

'They weren't really aggressive, it could have been way worse so I don't want to sound like I'm not grateful. I'm out, I'm home, I'm safe. I'm such a better person. Let's move on'.
