Tomi Lahren settles lawsuit against ex-boss Glenn Beck after she was fired when she said she supported abortion rights

  • Tomi Lahren has been released from the non-compete clause in her contract
  • She will be able to keep her Facebook page, which has 4.3 million followers
  • Lahren sued TheBlaze for wrongful termination after she was sidelined following conservative backlash after she went on 'The View' and said she was pro-choice

Conservative pundit Tomi Lahren has settled her lawsuit against her former boss, Glenn Beck, and his conservative news and entertainment site, TheBlaze.

Lahren had been embroiled in a nearly month-long legal battle with TheBlaze, suing them for alleged wrongful termination following her March appearance on 'The View,' during which she voiced her pro-choice stance, drawing criticism from TheBlaze's conservative base.

The Dallas Morning News reports that as part of today's settlement, 24-year-old Lahren will be released from her contract with TheBlaze, allowing her to seek out a job at a competing organization.

She'll also be allowed to keep hold of her Facebook page — created for her by her former employers, TheBlaze — which has 4.3 million followers.

In exchange, Lahren's lawyer, Brian Lauten, told The Dallas News that Lahren would return all 'intellectual property' posted on her Facebook page that had been created by TheBlaze.

Presumably, this means that she will be deleting all the videos that originated from TheBlaze, as she had reportedly offered to do while in court.

Any other settlement agreements Lahren and TheBlaze might have reached are being kept quiet.

Lahren claimed that she was punished by TheBlaze and had her show, 'Tomi,' cancelled after expressing her pro-choice stance during a March episode of 'The View'

'Ms. Lahren is relieved to have this litigation behind her,' Lauten said in a statement. 'She looks forward to connecting with her audience and fan base on the pressing political issues facing our country in the days to come.'

Lahren posted a video on her Facebook page to give fans her 'final thoughts' about the settlement.

'It's been quite the battle and not an easy time,' she said, adding that, 'I've learned a lot and I wouldn't trade these lessons for anything. This was meant to be and now I can move forward freely, fearlessly and with my head held high.'

'TheBlaze is pleased to announce that the relationship with Tomi Lahren has concluded,' the company said in a statement. 'Ms. Lahren will continue to have access to her social media accounts as has always been the case.'

Lahren sued TheBlaze and Beck three weeks ago, claiming that the company had violated the terms of her contract by canceling her show, 'Tomi,' after her appearance on 'The View.' As such, she asked that she be officially released from her contract, which wasn't due to expire until September 30.

Among Lahrer's complaints, according to The Dallas News, was that Beck had engineered 'a public smear campaign' against her, that TheBlaze wouldn't allow her to access her Facebook page and told her to stay off social media.

She also claimed that, in cancelling her show, TheBlaze failed to produce the promised 230 episodes of her show per year.

TheBlaze claimed that they had only suspended Lahrer and was continuing to pay her salary.

In settling with Lahrer, Beck escaped having to testify in court later this week.
