Kristina Wagner has been the star of General Hospital for decades and she posed for several magazine covers during that time.

But on Thursday the actress - who used to be married to Melrose Place star Jack Wagner (he later romanced Heather Locklear) - made her bikini cover debut with the new issue of First For Women.

The blonde looked fantastic as she slipped into a red two piece. 'Never in my life have I posed in a bikini or underwear before, but I didn't mind because it’s not about "how do you get fit so you can wear a bikini"—it’s about a lifestyle and having good body image,' the beauty said.

The star looked flawless as she posed by a swimming pool in LA. And she said it's not hard to stay in good shape if your work at it.

'I look my best if I focus on taking care of my whole self—mind, body and spirit,' she said.

In 1984, Wagner got her big break when she was cast as Felicia Cummings on General Hospital; she appeared in the role on a contract basis until 2003.

She took a break but then came back the next year.
