Still going Solo! Harrison Ford shops by himself in LA on May the 4th

May the 4th is a celebrated day by Star Wars fans all throughout the globe.

The date bears a resemblance to the film's catch phrase 'May the force be with you.' 

Harrison Ford, 74, who played Han Solo in the mega franchise was spotted in Brentwood on the 'holiday' all by himself.

He made his way through the trendy Brentwood Country Mart holding a book called News Of The World.

The 74-year-old star did not appear to have plans in taking part of any festivities on the fan-created holiday. 

Harrison did partake in a 40th anniversary panel held in Orlando back in March.

Mark Hamill was in a decidedly much more festive mood on May the 4th, making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to surprise super fan Adam Scott.

The Big Little Lies star was telling fill-in host Kristen Bell about the time he invited Luke Skywalker to his birthday party as a child and he didn't show

Midway through the story, Scott was interrupted by the Star Wars theme and Mark Hamill came out from a side door to apologize for missing his birthday party.

Costume parties, movie marathons and fun runs were among the special events being staged in New York and other cities worldwide on Star Wars Day. 

For years that catchphrase has brought "Star Wars" fans together to celebrate the franchise in private and public events on May 4, a phenomenon that has been pushed into light speed as more fans have connected over the Internet.

Other events in the United States included special 'Star Wars'-themed activities at the Walt Disney Co's Disneyland amusement park in California. Disney owns the Star Wars franchise.
