Meet the woman, 28, who met her fiancé at the airport

Brie Elizabeth, 28, has known of Matthew Benfell, 31, (both pictured left, centre, top right and bottom right) since she was 16 as the pair grew up in the same area of Hampshire, but they didn't meet properly until 10 years later. Brie said the early stages of their relationship began when Matthew saw her on a television show, found her on Facebook and then added her. The pair started talking and tried to meet up but work commitments prevented them from being able to. Finally, they met at Sydney International Airport in 2014 and have now got engaged at the same place. Brie said she always knew he was 'the one' but had been too shy back at school to say anything to him. She said: ''He was just a dream. I rarely saw him but when I did my heart would do a little flip or what Matthew and I like to call a pang. I would forever tell the universe I wanted to meet him but we never did meet at school.'

French Election: Macron campaign hit by hack attack

Hacked documents from Emmanuel Macron's presidential campaign were posted online last night in a 'massive and co-ordinated attack' after the front-runner complained of Russian attempts to destabilise him. Some nine gigabytes of data were posted by a user called EMLEAKS to Pastebin, a document-sharing site that allows anonymous posting. They included emails, accounting documents and contracts - all legal - from his campaign. Macron's political movement En Marche! (Onwards!) said that several of its leaders had their emails hacked. Former economy minister Macron's team has complained in the past about attempts to hack its emails during a fraught campaign, blaming Russian interests in part for the cyber attacks. President Vladimir Putin is said to favour anti-EU candidate Le Pen whose election would contribute to the further destabilisation of the Union.

'She's forgotten her position on Brexit and she keeps repeating herself': Viewers' anger as comedian Andy Hamilton jokes that Theresa May might have DEMENTIA on BBC's Have I Got News for You

Have I Got News For You viewers were outraged when comedian Andy Hamilton began cracking jokes about Theresa May suffering from dementia. Making a reference to the Prime Minister's regularly repeated slogans, he indicated that - rather than trying to drill her message into voters' heads - she may simply be prone to memory loss. The lefty funnyman said: 'I knew I was coming on the show so at the weekend I thought I would watch the Sunday politics shows and I stopped counting in the end because she began so many sentences with that construction: 'I'm very clear...It struck me that normally if someone repeated themselves that incessantly, you'd get them checked out for Alzheimer's.'

Historic Tory poll triumph as Ukip is wiped out

Theresa May is on course for a general election landslide after pummelling Labour and crushing Ukip at the local polls. The Tories recorded a stunning series of results yesterday, picking up 560 seats in every part of the country - including Labour marginals in the North, the Welsh valleys and even Scotland. Ukip was routed, with voters deserting to the Tories in their droves in an emphatic endorsement of the Prime Minister's approach to Brexit. Labour lost more than 380 seats and its misery was compounded when the Conservatives won the mayoral contests in the West Midlands and the Tees Valley, in what was described as a 'political earthquake'.

Theresa May saw her candidates pick up seats in Glasgow's Ferguslie Park and Shettleston, North Lanarkshire's Motherwell West - places the Tories have not been competitive for decades.

Labour is like the Titantic after it hit an iceberg

Cast your mind back 20 years almost to the day. Tony Blair famously declared 'a new dawn has broken' as his Labour Party swept into power in the General Election of May 1997 (pictured). His supporters gleefully hoped that his thumping Commons majority of 179 would mean the Conservative Party might never govern Britain again. In a bid to consolidate this sea-change, Mr Blair sought to engineer an alliance with Paddy Ashdown's Lib Dems and to turn the 21st century into what he termed the 'progressive century' - thus cutting the Tories out of power for ever.

James Lusted has become the Conservative Party's shortest politician at just 3ft 7in tall. He hopes to stand up for the little people, despite being two feet shorter than Theresa May.

Carole Middleton's mother of the bride countdown

The marriage of her 33-year-old daughter Pippa to hedge-fund millionaire James Matthews on May 20 will, without doubt, be one of the most important moments of 62-year-old Carole's life (pictured left and with Pippa, right). For while her eldest daughter Kate's royal nuptials to Prince William at Westminster Abbey in April 2011 may have been a global affair, this time the ceremony is on the Middleton's home turf in Berkshire. The stakes are high indeed. Pippa and James will tie the knot at 12th-century St Mark's Church in Englefield, six miles from the village of Bucklebury, where Carole and her husband, Michael, 67, reside in a Grade II-listed manor (inset) set in 18 acres.

Nazis killed 40,000 on Alderney 'chemical weapons' island

There is now incontrovertible evidence that a top-secret launcher site for V1 missiles - one of Hitler's vengeance weapons - was being constructed on the island. And the reason for that secrecy was that, shockingly, they were to be armed not with conventional explosives, but with internationally outlawed chemical warheads, capable of causing the same degree of destruction, terror and panic seen recently by President Assad's chemical strike in Syria. They are likely to have contained the very same nerve gas: Sarin. The target of these deadly doodlebugs? The note that helped prove couple did NOT shake their baby

A poignant note from heartbroken young mother Carla Andrews was tucked into the family's photo album as she faced last Christmas Day without her seven-month-old daughter Effie. It said simply: 'It's December 24, 10.15pm. I'm ready for bed, but as I write this I am dreading Christmas tomorrow because our baby girl won't be here. I am missing you Effie . . . we all are. Me and Daddy promise to have you home soon. We love you, always have, always will. XXXXX' This message, discovered by a judge by chance when the album was handed in as evidence during an historic family court case, helped stopped Effie being taken away and adopted. For the judge said it provided proof of the devotion of Carla and her partner Craig to Effie even though the pair were facing accusations of violently shaking their daughter and nearly killing her.

The zoo keepers who killed off Colin the croc

An animal rescue charity has admitted covering up the death of one of the star attractions at its zoo. Colin the spectacled caiman allegedly died after keepers left him in an outside enclosure during cold weather. But for nearly a month, a notice on his enclosure told visitors the 7ft reptile had been rehomed. Colin was at least 36 years old and was from a species from Central and South America closely related to alligators and crocodiles. The zoo, Beaver Water World in Tatsfield, Surrey, says he was found dead on April 9. 1. Footage allegedly shows founder Stella Quayle (bottom left) poking the body with a broom. 2. Other staff at the charity move in to cover the windows of Colin's enclosure. 3. A large wooden box thought to contain the caiman is carried out. 4. The wooden crate can later be seen in the back of a pick-up truck, which is driven off.

King Charles III 'will be agonising for Wills and Harry'

NEW In the last interview before his death on April 7, Tim Pigott-Smith said how painful the new BBC film, King Charles III, would be for the princes when the ghost of their dead mother Diana, Princess of Wales, appeared. The actor, who died aged 70, takes on the role of Prince Charles (top left with Oliver Chris as Prince William and Charlotte Riley as Kate Middleton) in the 90-minute film that imagines the first days of his accession to the throne after the death of the Queen. The plot centres around the constitutional crisis that arises after the new king refuses to sign a bill into law that places harsh restrictions on press freedom. Princess Diana's spirit appears when Prince Charles comes to the throne as she haunts the rooms of Buckingham Palace and tells her late husband: 'You think I didn't love you. It's not true.' King Charles III, which starts on BBC 2 next week, is the TV adaptation of a play by Mike Bartlett, which Mr Pigott-Smith also starred in. American boy's organs helped Italian man live for decades

Nicholas Green was just seven years old when ruthless killers shot him dead during a family holiday in Italy in a random act of horror in 1994. His selfless parents Maggie and Reg donated Nicholas' heart to Andrea Mongiardo, a Roman teenage boy in desperate need of a transplant. The act of kindness kept Mr Mongiardo alive for 22 more years until he died in February - meaning their beloved son's heart only stopped beating this year. But the American couple did not stop there - Nicholas' organs went on to save the lives of five Italians and his corneas saved the sight of two others. The gesture, as well as national horror at the random murder of a child, led to Italy's organ donation rate tripling in a decade - a result hailed as the 'Nicholas effect'.

PokeRUN! Bizarre moment a Pikachu dancer's costume begins to deflate mid-performance sparking a team of staff members to tackle and drag the person away

At the Pokemon World Festival there are serious repercussions for giving a deflating performance. The performer was centre stage in front of hundreds of spectators for a big dance medley. It started off according to the plan with the team of 15 dancers cheerfully waddling around to Mark Ronson's 'Uptown Funk'. But disaster struck during the Hairspray track, 'You Can't Stop the beat', when the main dancer's costume sprung a leak and began deflating.

Thousands of government forces cordoned off at least two dozen villages in southern Kashmir yesterday while they hunted for separatist militants believed to be hiding in the area.

HUNTER DAVIES on hanging up his car keys after 57 years

Let's just say I have no interest in cars, never have done, get no pleasure out of them - and yet, and yet... now I have decided to give up driving for ever (57 years was quite long enough), I find myself lying awake at night going over all the cars I have owned in my long-legged life. I count them instead of sheep to get me to sleep, trying to remember the precise models, in order, and their names and colours, then I turn over and smell them, for even at this distance several retain their aroma. Then I smile and go to sleep.

Still waiting for spring! Diggers burrow through 10ft deep snow unearth a Norwegian mountain pass that got LOST during winter as stunning drone footage reveals a stunning frozen wilderness

Every year diggers and snowploughs are sent to the Trollstigen serpentine pass in Rauma Municipality to make it usable for the summer season. The road connects the town of Andalsnes with the village of Vallda and is noted for its spectacular views. It is vulnerable to avalanches and for this reason the pass is closed by the Norwegian authorities in the winter.

Startling moment a runaway car rolls backwards through two lanes of busy traffic and is left halfway up a TREE as driver chases the vehicle

The driver can be seen chasing after the vehicle along with a passerby in astonishing dashcam footage of the incident near Maidstone in Kent. The silver car ends up halfway up a tree after miraculously avoiding two lanes of stop-start traffic as it rolls at speed down the steep road. The driverless motor clips the sloping edge of a crash barrier which launches it high into the tree. In the clip the car is seen being chased by a man and a woman - thought to be the driver and a passerby.
