May the Fourth be with him! Danny Trejo gets into the Star Wars Day fun as he shares his 'lost' audition for iconic film and spoofs Princess Leia

On Thursday he joined the fun with everyone else celebrating May the fourth, Star Wars Day.

Danny Trejo posted his 'lost' Star Wars audition tape, presumably from 1977, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the 19-second Instagram clip, Danny donned Princess Leia's hair buns and scowled at the camera as he delivered her classic line, 'Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope' from the original film that kicked off the franchise.

The 72-year-old actor continued grimacing but cracked up laughing a split second before the camera was turned off.

Born in Los Angeles, Danny is of Mexican ancestry.

And he is best known for playing a badass in numerous films including Heat, Con Air, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn and Machete, among others.

But it seems he was going for a softer role when Danny 'auditioned' for the movie, which was renamed Star Wars: A New Hope when the three prequel movies were released.

Danny, who has more than 310,000 Twitter followers, is something of a social media Jedi himself, according to THR, often posting memes and GIFs fans made of him from some of his most classic roles.

Meanwhile, he may be in his seventies, but he is showing no signs of slowing down.

The actor has an amazing 25 projects in pre-production, post production or completed for 2017, plus Death Race: Anarchy set up for 2018.
