Smiling at fans, the A-lister's enviable jawline was on full display, accentuated by his LA tan that juxtaposed against distressed-leather biker jacket.

Returning as Ethan Hunt for the sixth installment of the espionage thriller Mission Impossible, Tom wore an all-black ensemble with subtly place knee pads to absorb the impact from performing his own action set pieces.

And Tom certainly needs all the protection he can get if the rumours of him performing his most dangerous stunt to date are true.

Though most of the details of the plot of the latest film in the franchise have been kept tightly under wraps, Skydance Media CEO David Ellison revealed that Tom will be performing the biggest stunt sequence of his career in the film.

Ellison told Collider: 'What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that’s come before. It is absolutely unbelievable—he’s been training for a year.

'It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after Rogue Nation came out [in 2015]. It’s gonna be mind-blowing.'

The star has kept his famous athletic figure in check with gruelling workouts.

Fitness has always been one of Cruise's assets. In fact for the last Mission Impossible film, he famously trained to be able to hold his breath for six minutes.

Dangerous: Tom will be performing the biggest stunt sequence of his career in the film, topping the six minutes he spent underwater in the previous installment of the franchise

'Normally in underwater sequences, people hold their breath for 10 seconds, 15 seconds max,' Cruise explained in a behind-the-scenes video for Access Hollywood.

'So I had to prove to everyone that it was actually safe and spend time with the safety guys and the safety officers to show them not only is it safe, it's better that I know how to hold my breath because I'm going to be very relaxed.

'No-one's going to have to rush in. No-one has to panic.'
