The actress wore her raven hair in a centre parting and pulled back into a bun at the nape of her neck.

Her black-framed glasses matched her muted polo neck and jacket, which was tied in a knot at the front.

She wore a black studded bag across her body and clutched a large bag and a pair of sunglasses.

The star said goodbye to fiance David Gardner at the door of their home as she went to work.

Make like Liv Tyler and go for a Givenchy handbag

Liv Tyler looked super chic as she left her London home for work this week wearing an all-black look. Wrapping up in a belted coat and turtleneck jumper, Liv accessorized her ensemble with a cut Givenchy 'Pandora' mini bag.

We love the nano size of the piece of arm candy which is perfect for fitting in your everyday essentials; meanwhile the crossbody strap leaved your hands free.

The boxy silhouette of this bag combined by the luxe look gold hardware gives this bag a sleek aesthetic that will elevate any look.

David, who was dressed casually in a black jumper and jeans, held their son Sailor Gene in his arms as he watched Liv leave.

The toddler, who wore a grey patterned jumper and a nappy, stared absent-mindedly into the distance as his mother left.

Liv smiled and talked with the pair before she made her way to her car.

When she climbed into her car, fiance David carried Sailor to the gate of their house to wave her goodbye.

On Wednesday, Liv appeared in an advert campaign for Gap called Mama Said.

The campaign is in support of Every Mother Counts, who help mothers around the world.

In a statement, Liv said: 'I often think of the things my grandmother and my mother have been telling me my whole life.

'Remembering what your "mama said" as a child and growing up is very important. I often try to think of things that I can say to my children in a way that they can hear me the same way I heard my mom.

'I’ve always loved the Gap. Growing up in America, Gap is such a big part of your life and I thought it was such a special thing to do a project that involves the mothers, the children and Every Mother Counts.'
