He sent fans into meltdown when he was spotted dangling out of a helicopter on the set of his music video last month. 

And Harry Styles joked that the tight harness used for the daring stunt 'helped with the high notes' as he chatted to DJ Roman Kemp on the new Capital London Breakfast Show on Friday morning.

The former One Direction star, 23, performed the daring stunt for his debut music video Sign Of The Times, which reached number one on the UK singles chart.

Poking fun at the terrifying helicopter stunt, Harry told Roman: 'Yeah that’s how I go to work. Go to grab my coffee, I just drop in. The usual, wahey! It was mental if I’m honest.'

Harry said the harness 'helps with those high notes' and added: 'But no honestly, actually, if I didn’t feel safe, I wouldn’t have done it.'

The curly-haired heartthrob added that it was difficult to remember his lyrics when he was suspended in the air.

The singer, who will make his acting debut later this year in hotly-anticipated Christopher Nolan movie Dunkirk, will also be hosting The Late Late show on CBS for a week with his close pal, James Corden, 38. 

He said: 'Well not hosting, I’m sleeping over for a week. I’m going to sleep in the dressing room.

'I am [excited], I don’t have to go anywhere I can just stay there which is amazing.'

Harry was also surprised with a mariachi band live on the radio show.

Former bandmate Niall Horan revealed he really likes Harry's new song. 

Niall, 23, told Capital Radio: 'I think people were shocked by it a little bit, but I was like, that’s Harry. That’s Harry written all over it. 

'I really like it, I’ve listened to it a lot. It’s a great song.'

Niall signed a solo deal with Capitol Records in September 2016 and released debut track This Town, which was number nine in the UK charts. 

He said his debut album could be released later this year.

Harry will make his acting debut later this year in Christopher Nolan's war film Dunkirk.

The group, which also included Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, released five albums and are currently on hiatus. 

In March 2015, Zayn left the band and later found solo fame with number one hit Pillowtalk. 

Liam has signed a recording contract with Capitol Records and recently welcomed his first child, baby son Bear, with partner Cheryl, 33.

Louis released his first post-One Direction track, Just Hold On, in December 2016, which he dedicated to his late mother, Johannah Poulston, who passed away earlier that month at the age of just 43.
