Mark Hamill surprises Star Wars superfan Adam Scott on Jimmy Kimmel... and apologizes for snubbing his second birthday party

A long time ago, in a back garden far, far away, Adam Scott invited Luke Skywalker to his birthday party.

And on Thursday night, Mark Hamill finally apologized for snubbing it.

The Little Big Lies star, 44, was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, telling fill-in host Kristen Bell about how he wrote a letter to the Jedi to ask him to come celebrate his birthday.

'I believe it was my second birthday party... I believe Empire Strikes back was coming out,' he said. 'I remember everything about that whole season around when Empire Strikes Back came out.'

Although Adam was actually seven when the Star Wars sequel hit theatres, he did clearly remember being sure Skywalker would turn up.

'I thought that if he got it, and if he was able, and if his schedule was clear, he was probably going to come,' he recalled.

'He didn't show up, he continued. 'And I remember not being crushed or anything, it was fine... I knew he must have been incredibly busy...
