The Patriots gang took a private jet with star quarterback Tom Brady for a weekend escape to the Kentucky Derby.

Brady, along with backup quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett, arrived in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, one day ahead of the heralded annual thoroughbred stakes.

On the ground, they also met up with Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Notably absent from Brady's jet-setting retinue was Rob Gronkowski, though there were rumors that the Patriots' star tight-end was simply making his way to the Bluegrass State on his legendary party bus.

Brady is a perennial Derby fan, spotted at Churchill Downs most years with a gaggle of his teammates and friends, including Gronkowski.

His weekend trip comes after he enjoyed a glamorous date night on Monday at The Met Gala in Manhattan with model wife Gisele Bundchen,

Brady's private jet entourage to Kentucky on Friday also included wide receiver Julian Edelman, as well as Brady’s personal manager Ben Rawitz.

Hopefully the Super Bowl winners brought their galoshes, as heavy rains Friday have turned Churchill Downs into a mud pile on the eve of the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby, and the rain is expected to continue into race day.

While weather experts say the rain should break before the big race Saturday at 6pm, there will be scattered showers throughout the day that could put a damper on the mint julep-fueled festivities.

The rain is expected to stop around 2pm, but there's still a 56 per cent per cent chance it will be raining when the riders hit the track for 'the most exciting two minutes in sports' at 6pm.

The race itself will start exactly at 6:46pm.

The dirt track at Churchill Downs has a reputation for rapidly draining and drying. While there undoubtedly will be some residual moisture on the surface, it might not be a muddy Derby if the sky clears in time.
