Two engaged Boston doctors have their throats slit

Two respected Boston doctors, center, were killed in their $1.9 million penthouse apartment, with their throats slit, on Friday night. When police arrived at Dr. Richard Field, right, and Dr. Lina Bolanos', left, apartment in South Boston, they were met by gunshots from the doctors' killer. Bampumim Teixeira, 30, far left, did not hit police officers before they shot him. The killer was taken to Tufts Medical Center for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The motive for the killings are unknown, but police believe the crime does not appear to be random and they have said the two doctors and their killer knew each other. San Diego police killed boy aged 15 in school parking lot

Police shot and killed a 15-year-old student Saturday after he pointed a BB gun at them at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, authorities said. When two officers arrived, they spotted a youth in the front parking lot. But as they got out of their patrol cars, he pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at an officer, police said. The officers drew their guns and ordered him to drop the weapon. But instead he began to walk toward an officer, ignoring more demands to drop the weapon, police said. Both officers fired, hitting him several times. They performed first aid and summoned paramedics, but the teen was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said. The gun was found to be a BB air pistol (pictured top).

Oakley has said his comment was intended to reflect his personal feelings that the killing 'should qualify for the death penalty.'

Donald Trump was pictured hitting the links on Saturday at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The President had previously stated that the purpose of his trip to the club was for 'meetings,' and explained that he would be 'working from home' during the weekend. A photo showing the President enjoying his favorite pastime on the greens emerged on Instagram, taken by another member of the golf club. When contacted about the photo, a White House spokeswoman would not comment on whether or not the President was playing golf. Shortly later, the photo was removed from Instagram.

Newly engaged MSNBC anchors Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough were poked fun at on the latest hilarious episode of Saturday Night Live where the two NBC stablemates couldn't keep their hands off one another in front of horrified guests and Alec Baldwin appeared via telephone as President Donald Trump during the cold open. The Morning Joe hosts announced earlier this week that they were engaged after Scarborough popped the question to Brzezinski while the two were on a romantic trip to the south of France to celebrate her 50th birthday last weekend. Kate McKinnon took on Brzezinski and absolutely nailed it as Alex Moffat also successfully portrayed Scarborough for the skit.

The French have a stark choice between two candidates - pro-business independent Emmanuel Macron and far-right populist Marine Le Pen. A World War II fighter aircraft was dredged up from the bottom of the Kerch Strait between Crimea and mainland Russia on Saturday (pictured). The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter aircraft (left), leased from the US to the Soviet Red Army, spent about 70 years underwater until divers spotted it nearly four miles from the coast. Five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman recently revealed that he thinks that Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea , is 'just like anybody else' who loves American music, particularly theme songs for the 1976 movie Rocky (top right) and the 1980s TV series Dallas (bottom left). He also praised him for 'doing everything' for his people. The former basketball player has visited North Korea on multiple occasions (inset). But many say Rodman is ignoring both the country's human rights record and the despot's multiple threats to attack the US.

A sensible bull elephant in the Tarangire National Park, Tanzania, was filmed acting as peacemaker after a pair of ostriches starting kicking each other. The magnificent animal ambled towards the pair, surveying them quietly for a few moments before deciding their spat was more than a mere annoyance. He began spreading his ears - a known sign of aggression in elephant body language - but when that failed to break the ostriches apart he gave an almighty trumpet and charged at the birds.
