Britain's Got Talent... again! Dancer Ali Rasul wows with partner Grace Durkin despite already WINNING dance show hosted by Alesha Dixon in 2011

Teenage dancers Ali Rasul and Grace Durkin impressed the judges on Saturday's Britain's Got Talent with their tale of young love and their moving modern dance routine to Gravity by Sara Bareilles.

But it seems there's a smattering of scandal underneath the couple's success at the first audition.

It has been revealed that Grace, 17, and Ali, 16, already have links to BGT judge Alesha Dixon.

Ali was a contestant on her 2011 CBBC series Alesha's Street Dance Stars.

10-years-old at the time - the show was on in 2011 - Ali was member of Lil Diamondz, who were a dance troupe.

What's more, the group went on to win the show - meaning Alesha would likely have been aware of Ali, although as a source explains to the MailOnline, the young talent has changed a lot in the past six years:

'Ali was only 10 years old when he performed for Alesha in 2011 so obviously looks very different now. He also auditioned with a completely different style of dance for BGT so it's no wonder she didn't recognise him'.

Indeed, the judge, 38, showed no glimmer of foreknowledge about Ali as he introduced himself.

Following his performance with Grace, she said: 'You are two of the most talented dancers we’ve seen by a clear mile. You are absolutely stunning together to watch.

'Skill level was insane. You were so in-sync, told a brilliant story. I was in awe of your talent.'

In yet another twist, Ali also went on to play the lead role in Billy Elliot when he was 13, in London's West End productions, with the young talent aiming for a full time career out of dance and therefore keen to gain as much experience as possible.

Grace and Ali met while studying Performing Arts Musical Theatre at the Riverside College, Stockton-On-Tees.

Ali said, ahead of Saturday's broadcast, that at the time of the audition he and Grace 'were nervous waiting backstage, but the nerves go when you walk on stage'.

'We chose to audition for Britain’s Got Talent because we wanted to share with everyone what our passion is and reach a much wider audience,' Grace added, speaking to Gazette Live.

A spokesperson for BGT told MailOnline: 'Anyone can apply for Britain's Got Talent whether they are professional or amateur, irrespective of their past experience and all contestants are auditioned on merit.'

Britain's Got Talent continues next Saturday evening from 8PM.
