Grieving mother snaps her dying teenage daughter's 'GUARDIAN ANGEL' on camera in the pair's poignant final photo together

A grieving mother believes she captured a picture of her dying daughter's 'guardian angel' in one of their final photos together.

Sarah Danbury, from Grantham, Lincolnshire, tragically lost her 19-year-old daughter Amy Beckingham to a rare form of liver cancer.

She is convinced a selfie she took with her daughter shortly before her death shows the apparition of an angel.

Ms Danbury and her daughter were in London for treatment at the Royal Free Hospital when they took the selfie.

Sarah tragically passed away three weeks after the photo was taken.

Mother-of-three Sarah, 39, said: 'I didn't think anything of it at first but when you look closely at the photo it does look like an angel.

'There were only two lights on that side of the room and they were both switched off - you just can't explain it, it's so weird.

'When Amy saw the picture she said 'it's my guardian angel'. Just three weeks later Amy sadly passed away.

'It gives me comfort seeing that picture because it makes me think there was someone there with Amy looking after her knowing it was coming to her time, you just don't know.

'I don't go to church but it got me thinking that there's got to be more out there.'

Ms Danbury (pictured, left, on her wedding day with husband Adrian and her daughter) says the picture gives her hope that someone was 'looking after Amy' as she battled the disease

Ms Danbury said the pair were in London in September last year for fortnightly treatments as Amy battled fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma, an ultra-rare cancer that usually affects young adults.

However, Amy's condition rapidly deteriorated on October 1 and she passed away in Nottingham City Hospital on October 6.

WHAT IS FIBROLAMELLAR HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA?

Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma is a rare liver cancer that usually occurs in young adults who have no history of liver disease.

Patients typically present with symptoms which may include abdominal, shoulder or back pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, jaundice, and occasionally a palpable mass.

The typical treatment is surgical removal of the tumour. Other therapies may be used to slow down the spread of the disease.

Factory worker Ms Danbury added: 'Unfortunately when I had a meeting with her oncology doctor I was made aware that the tumours in her body were the size of tennis balls, it made me feel physically sick.

'She was such a brave girl. She wasn't one to sit there crying, she was so strong-minded and a real fighter. My dad also had cancer and passed away in March this year.

'They always used to help each other through it. That's one of the things I will always remember about Amy - she was such an inspirational girl and fought to the end.

'She had this awful disease but would always encourage people to keep going and be strong.'
