'I didn't shave my legs!': Carmen Electra was unaware she would be wearing a swimsuit during her Baywatch audition

The new Baywatch movie hits theaters at the end of May.

And it seems to have inspired Carmen Electra to open up about what it took to become a Baywatch babe on the classic television series. 

The 45-year-old actress told People on Friday night at the Race to Erase Ms Gala that it was a little more complicated than simply reading a few lines at an audition.

'I walked in, I knew I was going to read dialogue, so I had my scene ready. David Hasselhoff was in the room with the producers, the reading went well,' recalled the 90s sexpot.

Then things took an unexpected turn.

'After that they said, 'okay, here's a red bathing suit. Go try it on and come back into the room. And to be honest with you, I had no idea, because I was wearing like leggings when I went to the audition,' she said, before admitting 'and I didn't shave my legs that morning. I had no idea. I'm like, oh my God, I'm so embarrassed!'

Luckily for her and for viewers, she managed to get over her nerves and proceed with the audition.

'But I did it. I really wanted to be on the show. I grew up watching it. Number one show in the world. So I went in, put on the red suit,' she stated, before remembering a possibly embarrassing detail.

'It's practically a G-string. My legs weren't that hairy where you could notice, but I would have liked to have shaved my legs.'

She then shared some advice for the babes inheriting her position in the upcoming movie.

'Work out really hard before. Take that time so your body is on point because that bathing suit,' she said, before reiterating 'It might as well be a G-string to be honest.'
