Apparently it took two months and multiple attempts to deliver the documents to the Turn Up The Music singer.

According to California law, a person not connected to the case or a professional server must identify the defendant and inform them they are delivering court papers to them.

A hearing is set for later this month.

A rep for Karrueche Tran declined to comment on the matter when contacted by DailyMail.com.

In February, the actress was granted a temporary 100-yard restraining order against the X artist.

At the time Karrueche's lawyers Patrick Blood and Michelle Trigger offered a statement on her behalf, telling E! News 'Ms. Tran is looking to expeditiously close this matter and quite frankly be able to move on with her life and put this matter behind her as quickly as possible.'

They continued, 'We have no other comment at this time.'

Not a good track record: In 2009, Brown was arrested for attacking his then girlfriend Rihanna, although the Needed Me singer never testified against him in court and he eventually copped a plea deal. Above the former couple is pictured at the 2013 Grammys

Brown has a history of violent behavior against partners.

In 2009 the singer was arrested after savagely attacking then girlfriend Rihanna.

But the Needed Me singer refused to cooperate with authorities and testify about the abuse, leading them to cop a plea deal with the New Flame artist.
