A man is demanding a DNA test to prove he is the love child of late Bee Gee Maurice Gibb.

Musician Nick Endacott, 49, was adopted as a baby after his studio manager mother Patti Nolder gave him to a children's home in Woolwich, South London.

He was stunned when his aunt told him that she said his biological father was Maurice Gibb.

Now he wants a DNA test to prove it after three separate facial recognition tests said there is a high chance the two are related. One returned a match percentage of 95.2.

But he claims Maurice's widow Yvonne has refused permission for the test.

Mr Endacott told The Sunday People: 'My aunt told me that Patti had told her Maurice Gibb was my biological father. I was gobsmacked. It was the last thing I expected.

'I just want to know the truth – and who I am. I know people will think I'm doing this for money or some claim of the Gibb estate, but I'm not. It isn't about that. I just want to know who my dad is. I have a right to know.'

Mr Endacott believes he has a right to know if he is Maurice's son in case he suffers similar genetic health complications.

He said that his socialite mother initially told him Chris Andrews, frontman of Sixties cult rock band Fleur de Lys, was his father.

But a 2009 DNA test came back negative and his mother made it clear she did not want to help him find his real father. The pair are now distant.

He then asked her sister Alison who lives in Scotland and that's when he heard that Maurice Gibb could be his father.

Mr Endacott said: 'I’ve researched a lot and it all adds up. I’m 99 per cent sure Maurice Gibb is my dad but I need a DNA test to tell me 100 per cent in black and white.'

Patti Nolder only said: 'It’s all lies.'
