Taraji P. Henson glitters in backless Pucci gown... but loses MTV Movie Award to Emma Watson

Taraji P. Henson glittered like a disco ball in a sequinned Emilio Pucci gown at Sunday night's MTV Movie & TV Awards in Los Angeles.

The 46-year-old Oscar nominee paired her backless Pucci, featuring waist cut-outs, with sky-high Casadei heels selected by stylist Jason Bolden.

Make-up artist Ashunta Sheriff applied the Around The Way Girl author's magenta pout while hairdresser Tymothe Wallace coiffed her ombré bob wig.

Henson was nominated for two trophies for her role as real-life NASA mathematics genius Katherine Johnson in Hidden Figures, and one trophy for best kiss with her Empire castmate Terrence Howard.

However, the Howard University grad did get to accept the award for best fight against the system on behalf of her big-budget biopic.

But it was Beauty and the Beast's Emma Watson who took home the gender-neutral prize for best actor in a movie.
