Hugh got served! Jackman receives a copping from co-star Dafne Keen after Wolverine actor takes over the microphone at MTV Awards

He took out the Best Duo category with Dafne Keen, at the MTV Movie and TV Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

And as Hugh Jackman got a little carried away with his acceptance speech, he received a copping from his 12-year-old co-star.

Inspired perhaps by Kanye West, the teen had no qualms in interrupting the 48-year-old.

'You do 17 years (as Wolverine), I don't speak for half of the movie, and you get to say the thank yous? OK, no,' Dafne stated to Hugh.

Following on from the confrontation, Dafne proceeded to correct the Sydney-born personality, having not listed his parents on his list of people to thank.

Just moments prior, both actors gave each other a warm congratulatory embrace before making their way to the stage to accept their well deserved award.

Upon receiving their well-deserved gold popcorn statue, the pair did their signature Wolverine growling pose.

In the film, Dafne plays a young mutant named Laura, who is sent to Logan to be protected and taken to a safe haven.

The duo were up against some stiff competition including, The Voice's Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, Daniel Kaluuya and Lil Rel Howery from comedy horror film Get Out.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the release of Logan, Hugh said he was fine with another actor taking on the iconic role - unless it was Daniel Day Lewis.

'The character will go on. Someone else will play it, for sure. (I'm fine with it), unless Daniel Day-Lewis plays him and wins the Oscar, then I might have a little problem,' Hugh joked.
