Big Little Lies aired from February to April on the premium cable channel and proved a hit.

Based on the bestseller by Liana Moriarty, the trio played  wives and mothers caught up in a murder mystery.

The ending left things open to the possibility of a second season.

However, following the Instagram post, E! News reported that the three actresses were together for a photo shoot.

Nevertheless, a possible second season is something that has been bandied about.

Dern had told Vanity Fair in early April: 'We had the time of our lives making this. People are asking us a lot if there is room for a Season 2 of this, and I know there is a lot of discussion, so. . . whatever it is, we will come up with something really fun for sure.'

And Australian author Moriarty, speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald in an interview published April 11, said that while she is not keen to wrote sequels to her books, she was open to a story written solely for television.

'The producers have asked me to see if I can come up with some ideas,' Moriarty said.

'I'm absolutely open to it because, once I started thinking, it was too much fun to see what I could do and to see these characters again. And there's definitely places you can go.'
