Do Ya Think I'm hungry? Rod Stewart, 72, and Penny Lancaster, 46, enjoy cosy lunch date at Subway near their Essex home

He's worth a cool £150million, but Rod Stewart loves a good deal when he sees one.

The Maggie May rocker was spotted blending in with other customers as he hit his local fastfood joint this week with wife Penny Lancaster.

Rod, 72, and Penny, 46, tucked into two delicious sandwiches at Subway in Harlow, Essex, with fellow customers barely batting an eyelid.

Rod was dressed in a smart blazer with an open white shirt and tan trousers for the lunch date.

Penny meanwhile kept casual in skinny jeans paired with a pretty pink sweater, and showed off her natural beauty with minimal makeup.

According to onlookers speaking to the Daily Star, the a-list couple opted for two six-inch subs before settling down inside to eat.

Penny was seen grabbing an extra seat, while her musician hubby patiently waited for the food at the table.

The onlooker said: 'It was quite amusing seeing this loaded rock star come into Subway with this beautiful woman and buy her lunch for under £5.'

It's not the first time the down-to-earth rocker has gone incognito.

In a bid to keep a low profile, the rocker clad himself in sunglasses as he made his way to the venue on a number of trains and tubes, instead of in a private car - with his wife, 45, documenting the whole saga on Instagram.

Informing fans of their journey, she captioned the shot teasingly: 'Sneaking into London by train today' followed by a wink emoji.

Clearly excited by the adventure, Penny then uploaded a second snap of Rod on the Central Line tube.
