Doting father Ryan Gosling cuddles his two-year-old Esmeralda as they enjoy fun daddy-daughter day in LA

He celebrated daughter Amada's first birthday with wife Eva Mendes, earlier this month.

Therefore it was up to doting dad Ryan Gosling to invest some time in his first-born on Thursday, as he was seen taking out cute two-year-old Esmeralda in Los Angeles. 

The Oscar-nominated actor, 36, hoisted his little one up to eye level with one arm and was spotted chatting intently to the toddler during a daddy-daughter day out.

The Oscar-nominated actor looked laidback in a graphic blue T-shirt covered with images of motorcycles and a pair of understated brown chinos.

The La La Land star finished off his casual look with a pair of functional brown leather shoes. 

His sweet daughter was dressed in butterfly leggings and ballet slippers, hinting at her girlie nature.

Ryan is married to actress Eva, who was absent from the day out, and along with Esmeralda they share another daughter, Amada, who was born in May 2016.

Gosling and Mendes started dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of joint film venture, The Place Beyond The Pines.

Professionally, Ryan this week caused a storm among fans by appearing in a new trailer for the long-awaited sequel Blade Runner 2049 last week. 

In the teaser, a bloodied Ryan is seen searching for Harrison Ford in the harrowing landscape of a dystopian future.

Robin Wright is featured as well as she growls: 'That's what we do here, we keep order.'

The teaser opens with a mysterious figure walking alone as it cuts to Gosling holding a gun.

Afterwards, Gosling is walking in a desert landscape as he comes upon a strange towering temple.

Soon Ford approaches with a gun in hand as Gosling is seen screaming.

The teaser ends with Gosling firing his own gun as these words appear: 'See the official trailer in 3 days'.

Denis Villeneuve, coming off Arrival, directs a screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green based on the Philip K. Dick novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.

Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto co-star.

The sequel arrives in cinemas on October 6, 2017.
