He has won a lot of support as he battles to stop Halle Berry from taking their daughter to France.

But Gabriel Aubry could be facing a backlash after it emerged he is looking for $500,000 in legal fees and $20,000 per month in child support to look after Nahla.

Unfortunately for the 36-year-old his case ended up being postponed today, as the judge decided his legal paperwork had not been filled in properly.

According to TMZ, a source revealed the Canadian model believes he needs the sizable sum because 'he needs a proper environment' to care for their four-year-old daughter.

And it seems the former couple's regular legals jousts are also taking their toll on his pocket book, as he also wants the Catwoman star to stump up the cash he has to pay to his legal team.

It is just the latest twist in their ongoing courtroom battle over their daughter's future, which began when they split in 2010.

The former Calvin Klein model has also been mounting a fierce defence to his former lover's request to move their child to her fiance Olivier Martinez' homeland of France.

The actress recently spoke of how a move to France would be to better protect her four-year-old from stalkers and paparazzi.

The 45-year-old said: 'Yeah, there are laws like in France, which is the reason I want go there

'Laws that protect children, protect right to privacy. All I want is for my family and myself to have a normal life. When I’m not at work, that’s very important to me.'

She has already been investigating schooling options in Paris with Olivier, and claims her ex only works sporadically, so would be able to maintain a meaningful relationship with his daughter.

However Gabriel is fighting the move and their judge has yet to officially make a ruling.
