Dennis Quaid has been cast to play George W. Bush in the next American Crime Story miniseries.
The FX production, helmed by producer Ryan Murphy, will focus on the tragedies that occurred after Hurricane Katrina.
Katrina was the costliest natural disaster and one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States.

The storm is currently ranked as the third most intense United States land-falling tropical cyclone.
At least 1,245 people died in the hurricane and subsequent floods, making it the deadliest United States hurricane since the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane.
The total property damage was estimated in 2005 at $108 billion.

Katrina: American Crime Story will be executive-produced by Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson and is set to air in 2018.
The last American Crime Story installment was based on the OJ Simpson trial. The TV miniseries which starred David Schwimmer, Cuba Gooding Jr and Sarah Paulson, went on to win 22 Emmy Awards.

After that there will be an American Crime Story about the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace.
And there may be an American Crime Story installment about Bill Clinton's sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky.
Quaid has played political figures in the past.
In 2010, the actor played former U.S. President Bill Clinton in the British-American political movie, The Special Relationship.
Quaid will join Matthew Broderick who will play Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) director Michael D. Brown and Annette Benning will play Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.
