Demi Lovato's offered supportive words about her fellow 24-year-old former Disney Channel star Miley Cyrus, never mind old rumors of a feud between the two.

Clean-and-sober Demi said to The Hollywood Reporter: 'I am really proud of Miley,' who has, herself, recently told Billboard she's stopped using drugs and alcohol.

Of Miley and Brad Pitt, Demi said: 'I think that it helps people to know that there are people in the spotlight that have challenges, that are faced with very stressful lives.'

The singer and actress elaborated that 'I think it helps to know that recovery is possible and it’s something that is so important to certain people like myself.'

In a touching Instagram post she uploaded in March, Demi noted she'd been sober for five years, beginning her caption with: 'So grateful. It's been quite the journey.'

Demi wrote: 'So many ups and downs. So many times I wanted to relapse but sat on my hands and begged God to relieve the obsession,' she recalled.

'I'm so proud of myself but I couldn't have done it without my higher power (God), my family, friends, and everyone else who supported me. Feeling humbled and joyful today. Thank you guys for sticking by my side and believing in me.'

Meanwhile, in her Billboard interview, which went online May 3, Miley said: 'I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it].'

To hear her tell it, 'I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do.'

Asked about the difficulty of her endeavor, she replied: 'It’s easy, dude. When I want something, it’s f***ing easy for me. But if anyone told me not to smoke, I would have not done it. It’s because it was on my time. I know exactly where I am right now.'

As The Hollywood Reporter has pointed out, Brad had discussed going clean in a GQ Style interview that went online earlier this month.

In fact, it'd hit the Internet the same day as Miley's Billboard interview, and he'd admitted therein that 'I can't remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn't boozing or had a spliff, or something.'

He'd pointed out that 'you realize that a lot of it is, um - cigarettes, you know, pacifiers. And I'm running from feelings. I'm really, really happy to be done with all of that. I mean I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family,' he said.

'But even this last year, you know—things I wasn't dealing with. I was boozing too much. It's just become a problem. And I'm really happy it's been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I've got my feelings in my fingertips again.'

Demi posted a photo of herself to Twitter on Wednesday in which she posed in clothes from a new collection she's launched with Kate Hudson's Fabletics.

'I'm so blown away by the love on the #Demi4Fabletics collection so far,' she wrote, adding a heart emoji before tagging Fabletics and linking to her line.
