Injury alert! Fifth Harmony's Normani Kordei twists ankle during DWTS practice with Val Chmerkovskiy ahead of finals

As season 24 of Dancing With The Stars winds down, the competition is getting fiercer and fiercer.

But an unexpected injury might be taking show favorite Normani Kordei out of the running.

While the Fifth Harmony songstress was practicing a jump during rehearsals with partner Val Chmerkovskiy, the 20-year-old star 'landed funny' and 'rolled her ankle', according to TMZ, who also shared video of the dance disaster.

The video shows the top-ranked duo getting ready for next week's DWTS season finale, polishing their choreographer in hopes of taking home

The dancer quickly turns to caretaker, fetching ice and consoling his partner with calm and confidence.

Normani and Val are currently in first place in the celeb dancing competition, ranked ahead of duo Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater, as well as partners David Ross and Lindsay Arnold.

The series finale of Dancing With The Stars airs in two parts, starting at Monday May 23 at 8pp on ABC.
