It takes a village! Kim Kardashian shows off glamorous Cannes look from last year with a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the primping process

She's one of the most glamorous women in the world. 

And Kim Kardashian, 36, decided to reminisce about the time she attended the Cannes Film Festival last year with a behind-the-scenes look at the primping process. 

In honor of this year's film festival, the KUWTK star posted two photos to her website www.kimkardashianwest.com showing her intricate dress that featured sparkling detailing with the sides cut out.

In the first photo, the reality star was just starting the glam process and presumably trying on the dress as she had no makeup on and her long hair had not yet been tied up into the tight bun she ended up wearing. 

She was on her tippy toes for the photo to ensure proper visual representation of the dress. 

The second photo reveals the mom-of-two as she's putting the finishing touches on her incredible look that featured her dark hair in a tight bun and dark eyeliner around her eyes to really make them pop. 

She wore dangling diamond earrings that perfectly complimented the sparkling diamond-inspired gown.

Kim captioned the photo: 'In honor of the Cannes Film Festival this week, I wanted to throw it back to my fitting for the De Grisogono red carpet in Cannes in 2016.'

She explains how the entire look came together at the very last minute, saying: 'I wrote this beautiful custom Lanyu couture dress. I last-minute had nothing to wear for the event, so the designers from Lanyu flew in from China and met me in New York for a fitting, just hours before my flight to Cannes.'

But once she decided on the gorgeous frock, there were some difficulties with the fitting.

'The first slip we made for the dress was too short, so my amazing tailor got more fabric to add,' she explained. 'Then, the mesh from the slip was too light for my skin tone, so we had to dye the slip with tea bags at our hotel in Cannes, LOL! 

The dress was still a little damp when I wore it on the red carpet! I ended up pairing this dress with De Grisogono jewels and Manolo Blahnik heels. 

We added the leftover beads from my 2016 Met Gala Balmain gown outfit to the shoes, so this was a total custom look.'

She finished the explanation with a shoutout to her glam squad:  'Mario did my glam, with a smokey eye and heavy bottom eyeliner. For my hair, Jen Atkin and I went for a slicked-back bun.' 

Kim does not appear to be attending the glamorous film festival this year. 

She just got home from New York City where she was attending NBC Universal's newfronts presentation to support her E! show.

She later indulged in pizza and ice cream with Jonathan Cheban before returning to Los Angeles earlier in the week.
