'It's a huge honour!' Keith Urban belts out the American national anthem at the Nashville Predators hockey game as proud wife Nicole Kidman looks on

He's performed for his fans in concert plenty of times, and is a regular performer at celebrity events. 

But Keith Urban has revealed he's never been asked to sing the American national anthem, until now.  

The 49-year-old country music star - who was born in New Zealand but holds dual Australian and American citizenship - said how proud he was to belt out the anthem at a hockey game this week.

The Blue Ain't Your Colour hit maker performed wearing a Nashville Predators jersey, at one of the team's games in the US. 

Taking to Instagram, Keith shared a video with his fans, as he spoke to camera while sitting in the stands with his Oscar winning wife, Nicole Kidman, 49. 

'I've lived in America for almost 25 years, and I've never been asked to sing the National Anthem, until tonight,' Keith said, looking thrilled.

'So, it's a huge honour. Thank you, Preds for asking me. Go Preds!,' he added.

In the clip, Nicole smiles and waves and stuns in minimal makeup, wearing diamond earrings with her jersey.  

Nicole and Keith are based in Nashville with their two daughters, Sunday Rose, eight, and Faith Margaret, six.

The pair met at the G'Day LA gala in January 2005, and married in June 2006, in Australia, in Sydney's Manly. 

It has recently been reported that Nicole is set to shoot the DC Comics film, Aquaman, on Australia's Gold Coast this month.

It comes as her ex-husband of 11 years, Tom Cruise, is set to be in Australia at the same time, for his commitments for The Mummy.
