NEW The ownership group headed by David Beckham, which is trying to bring a Major League Soccer expansion franchise to Miami, Florida, unveiled a plan on Wednesday for a brand new 25,000-seater stadium. However, notable by its absence was the lack of available parking, with the plan for fans to use the nearby Metrorail shuttle, as well as buses, and water taxis on the Miami River, due to concerns over vehicle congestion.  The stadium will also rely on supporters being keen to march en masse towards the arena, a tradition at some MLS clubs such as Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers.

England's Young Lions have the chance to claim their third Under-17 European Championship title in seven years when they play Spain on Friday night. Steve Cooper's team have excelled at the tournament in Croatia, topping a group that contained Holland, Ukraine and Norway, then seeing off Ireland in the quarter-finals and Turkey in the semis. Now they have the chance to replicate their successes from 2010 and 2014 when they play Spain at the Stadion Andelko Herjavec in Varazdin on Friday evening. They face Crystal Palace and then Ajax with No 2 goalkeeper Sergio Romero (second right, with wife Eliana Guercio) set to start ahead of David de Gea (second left, with girlfriend Edurne Garcia).

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has hardly been out of social media discussion since guiding the Blues to an emphatic Premier League title charge at the first time of asking, and has now been immortalised as a result. The former Italy and Juventus boss is to receive his own emoji from social media platform Twitter, marking his dazzling start to life in English football. By using the designated hashtag #ChelseaChampions, fans can include the graphic of the 47-year-old within their tweets, as talk of the newly crowned Premier League champions shows no signs of dying down.

Arsenal stars arrived at the Emirates Stadium suited and booted alongside manager Arsene Wenger as they hosted their annual fundraiser in aid of The Arsenal Foundation on Thursday night. Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott were just a few of the first-team stars mixing it with fans, who had donated hundreds of pounds to charity to secure a table at the black-tie event. The club attempted to break the £385,000 the event raised in 2016. That money was used to build football pitches at community centres in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Atletico Madrid players have been given a first glimpse of their future after the team took a trip to see progress on their new stadium. Wanda Metropolitano Stadium will open it's doors next season and manager Diego Simeone led his team around the work site as they took in their surroundings. The group posed for a team shot and the stars got to wander around the ground themselves, decked out in top hats and visibility jackets.

An Everton Under 9s player was the surprise recipient of the club's academy goal of the season award on Wednesday night after a stunning volley against Derby. The eight-year-old schoolboy came out on top at the annual bash at St George's Hall in Liverpool having caught the eye with his brilliant technique and powerful finish. Despite facing competition from experienced players more than 10 years his senior, the talented youngster's strike stood out after he took two touches to control a clearance before smashing the ball into the top corner - all with his right foot. 

Football fans will resort to a number of actions when their team are playing particularly poorly. Some will boo and swear blind at underperforming stars, others will deflect their anger on to an unwitting referee, while some even attempt to confront the players they feel are at fault. One Rangers fan, however, came up with his own unique solution on Wednesday night, during his side's home defeat by Aberdeen.

They may be thousands of miles from home, in a very different country and much wetter climate, but that hasn't stopped the Premier League's Argentine contingent from enjoying the tastes of their homeland. Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has lifted the lid on how his compatriots at City, Manchester United and Everton get together regularly to host authentic Argentine 'asados.' Bayern Munich have launched their home kit for the 2017/18 season with a nod to their great sides of the seventies. The Bundesliga champions have made plenty history of their own after winning their fifth title in a row, and will go for No 6 in a strip that is a nod to the dominant sides of their past. Modelled by Mats Hummels, Thomas Muller and Juan Bernat the German giants showed off the design, which welcomes back the white stripes to the kit, similar to the ones worn by the likes of Franz Beckenbauer.

At 35, and with the season drawing to a close, you could forgive Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas for easing off in training. But that is not how the World Cup and Champions League winner got to the top. The first warm-up game of the tour may still be more than two weeks away, but the British and Irish Lions are already working hard. While not all members of the squad have joined up with the Lions, those that have come together are being made to do some heavy lifting. At their training camp in the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales, the big men of the Lions squad were spotted carrying heavy bags, lifting weights and competing in mini-tug-of-war contests.

Kell Brook has called out his only conqueror Gennady Golovkin despite upping his focus on stepping in a ring with Errol Spence Jr. Brook and Spence Jr will battle it out at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane ground in May 27 as he aims to keep hold of the IBF welterweight title. Spence Jr goes into the bout with an undefeated record and Brook is desperate to exact revenge on the guy who put a blot on his copybook.

DOMINIC KING: Kuyt announced his retirement on Wednesday and, really, that was the only decision he could have made. Life as a footballer would never get any better. This was the jackpot moment, this was a lifetime's work come to fruition in 90 astonishing minutes. This was paradise. His story has made football fans far and wide smile in recent days but, for those who worked with him down the years, there was genuine delight that one of the game's good guys had bookended his career in such magnificent fashion.
