'What's wrong with you!?' Jeffrey Tambor EMBARRASSES Ryan Seacrest after host awkwardly mistakes him for deceased actor from Ghost

Ryan Seacrest has been hosting the iconic chat show for just over two weeks.

And he just had his first very awkward moment due to mistaken identity involving Jeffrey Tambor.

The 42-year-old television presenter awkwardly mixed-up the 72-year-old showbiz veteran for a deceased actor from 1990 film Ghost during an interview on Live! With Kelly And Ryan on Wednesday morning.

No doubt Vincent Schiavelli has a resemblance to Tambor but that did not stop the Arrested Development favorite from embarrassing the executive producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Seacrest said: 'We talked about the things you have done and some of the things you're doing, but to me, you’re the scary guy on the subway in Ghost.'

Tambor reacted with a blank stare on his face at first but shifted it into a wry smile before revealing that it actually wasn't him.

Seacrest and co-host Kelly Ripa looked completely aghast as the Golden Globe winner revealed it was actually Schiavelli.

Tambor put his best deadpan expression on his face as he said: 'Wow here we go. He's dead. I'm still here.

'We tried to book Vincent Schiavelli, he's passed away and here I am.'

The comedy legend then hammed it up as he playfully acted outraged by the mix-up.

Tambor said: 'Spitting image right? What is wrong with you! I came on to sell a book, not to be insulted. I am hurt.

'My reps are here and we are filing an action suit. I came on in good faith.'

He did admit that this wasn't the first time it's happened as he recalled an incident where a waiter in Italy recited lines from ghost to him while on vacation.

Tambor continued by joking: 'My wife thought I was  Vincent Schiavelli and we married.'

Schiavelli had passed away in December 2005 at the age of 57 after a battle with lung cancer.

The longtime actor was on the show to promote his new book Are You Anybody?: A Memoir which was just released in bookstores on Tuesday.
