Taylor Swift's private jet has been spotted arriving in the UK as she jetted in to see her secret British boyfriend

Her aircraft, thought to be a Gulfstream G450, was pictured landing in Birmingham after flying in from Nashville, Tennessee, as her romance with British actor Joe Alywn, 26, was revealed.

The two have been trying to keep their budding relationship as private as possible, with the singer even said to have been sneaking around London in disguise.

It comes as speculation is mounting that a Vogue modelling shoot would have given British actor Joe Alwyn the perfect opportunity to chase his crush.

The 26-year-old was snapped with US fashion model Gigi Hadid, a close friend of his new pop star girlfriend, during a photoshoot in Copenhagen last summer.

It may have been how Joe was introduced to 27-year-old Taylor, after it was revealed the pair have been enjoying a secret romance over the past few months.

But even though he's stolen the heart of the most famous pop star on the planet, neighbours say Joe is not one to let his new-found celebrity status go to his head.

They describe the rising Hollywood star as a 'very grounded young man' with the 'air of somebody who's a bit surprised that he finds himself where he is.'

He is from a middle-class family, the son of a psychotherapist mother, Elizabeth, and documentary-maker father, Richard, and still lives at home with his parents in north London.

Friend and former classmate Jordan Bunton-Williams, an actor and writer who is creating a film about Mardoche Yembi, a man accused of being a child witch, told MailOnline that Joe was a heartthrob while at drama school but never had a girlfriend because he was so committed to his craft.

Mr Bunton-Williams, whose film is titled Mardoche's Journey to Freedom, said: 'He's very charismatic, he's what I refer to as a quintessential panty-dropper. Your classic Prince Charming. 

'Women want to throw themselves him. It's the way he holds himself. He caught the eye of certain people in our class until they realised he was so married to his work.

'He's very hardworking, very down to earth, very diligent and very gregarious. A very nice spirit to be around. The whole class was close and formed a real bond, I texted him well done after his last film and he replied to say thanks.'

The class of 18 used to meet every Friday night at the student bar in the Central School of Speech and Drama, with Joe joining in every fortnight or so. 

Taylor and Joe  are already very serious, The Sun newspaper has claimed, but the actor has not forgotten his north London roots. 

He attended the fee-paying City of London School on a combination of a scholarship and bursary, before reading English and drama at the University of Bristol.

Joe, who has two brothers - Tom and Patrick - then continued his studies at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama back in London.

It was here that he got his big break, when a new agent suggested he make an audition tape for three-time Oscar-winner Ang Lee. He recorded two scenes for Lee's new film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and was given his shot.

WHO IS JOE ALWYN?  

Joe Alwyn, 26, is best known for his titular role in celebrated director Ang Lee's 2016 film Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.       

Born on February 21 1991 to a psychotherapist mother and documentary-maker father, he attended National Youth Theatre before enrolling at the University of Bristol and London's Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Recalling his former student, Nick Moseley, the RCSSD’s principal lecturer, told Indiewire : 'He has a disarming humility which appears both on and off screen. I spoke to Joe recently and found that the experience of starring in a Hollywood movie had not changed him at all. He will continue to be the person he is.'

Director Lee would give him his big break, with the young actor playing a teenage army specialist alongside Steve Martin, Kristen Stewart and Vin Diesel in Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk. 

'From the first reading, from halfway in the first scene, there’s no doubt, he’s top-notch talent,' director Lee recalled. 'I was worried: Is he too handsome? But then his face is so compelling, it doesn’t matter.'

Looking back at their first meeting, casting director Avy Kaufman added: 'Joe came with a backpack, with like one pair of underwear. He had not a clue he was going to stay. When I met him in person, he was just like how he was in the tape.'

‘I’d never been to America, and I was told I’d be going home the next day,' Joe told the Evening Standard of that first audition. 'So I turned up with a tiny little rucksack and a pair of boxers and a T-shirt.' 

He eventually flew to Atlanta for screen tests before discovering he'd landed the role during an early morning call from his agent, less than day after returning to London.

Reflecting on his breakthrough character, he told The Hollywood Reporter : 'In many ways, he's a long, long way away from me. I'm from London, and he's a Texan soldier.

'But at the heart of it, the story is about a boy finding his place in the world. Although that takes place within this framework of this halftime show and the war and all these bigger things swirling around him, its heart is something very relatable.'

Two months after his film debut, he landed another major role, in an adaptation of Julian Barnes' Booker-winning The Sense of an Ending.

Signed by prominent American talent group Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Joe will next be seen in director Kristoffer Nyholm's Keepers, a psychological thriller that also stars Gerard Butler and Peter Mullan. 

But as the actor remains focused on a promising future, he has also reflected on his past - namely childhood memories of his film-maker father.

‘When I was growing up my dad was away a lot,’ he told the Evening Standard . ‘He did a lot of work in crisis zones, places like Uganda or Rwanda.

'When your dad comes back from a faraway land with bows and arrows and spears wrapped up in a carpet... that’s cool.’ 

Away from the spotlight, Joe reveals a disarming, down to earth nature.

Speaking to Vanity Fair about his likes and dislikes, the actor admitted he still uses London buses, loves a good old fashioned Indian curry and anything by rapper Eminem as his favourite karaoke number.

And given his sudden exposure to fame, the actor has unsurprisingly hinted at an underlying insecurity as he adjusts to life in the public eye.

'I don’t think that’s something that ever goes away, the feeling that you’re a fraud,' he told the Evening Standard. ‘Maybe that’s something that drives you.

'But yeah, I might always have that feeling of: “I’m gonna get found out and I shouldn’t be here.”’  

Geoffrey Colman, head of acting at the Central School for Speech and Drama, said: 'Joe was always deeply committed to his craft. He was often very moved by the massiveness of his vocation. He saw acting as a necessity. 

'He was serious about it, very committed. He was exceptional in that regard. 

'He's a thoughtful man who cares beyond the frivolity of putting on a show. He sees performance as a powerful gift that he has, and that he hopes can change things for good.

'We always hoped that this poetic soul would find a place for his vision.' 

Joe, who is being touted by some in the film industry as Hollywood's 'next big thing', has since appeared in a photoshoot with Hadid for Vogue.com. 

Taylor has also dated One Director singer Harry Styles and Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, as well as John Mayer, Conor Kennedy and Jake Gyllenhaal.

She has been staying out of the public's eye for three months and, according to the insider, is desperate to avoid the public scrutiny she faced while dating Tom, 36.

Joe is the first person Taylor has been linked to since she split with the Brit and they have reportedly been dating for months.

A friend told the Sun she had only been keeping the relationship secret from the public and the press.

They said: 'This isn't a new couple alert or a secret relationship – the only people this has been a secret to is the media because all of us, Taylor and Joe's closest friends and their families, were aware they have been together for several months and have known each other for a long time.

'After her 1989 tour and all the attention Taylor received, she learned she had to be more protective of her personal life and she and Joe decided early on to keep their private life private.' 

The star has spent a lot of time in the Joe's native London and has even rented a house in North London where Joe is reportedly a frequent guest.

To avoid detection further, the Shake It Off star has been jetting back and forth using her private jet and had security keeping her out of sight at all times. 

Joe came to prominence following his first film, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.

Until recently he had been playing football for a team on the Hackney Marshes. 

Joe, who has only 3,000 followers on Twitter (compared to Taylor's 84 million), is the son of a psychotherapist mother and documentary-maker father.

Discussing that in an interview with London's Evening Standard, he commented:

But Joe might need to have a thick skin if he wants to date the star as some of her exes have found themselves to be the subjects of some of her songs. 

Taylor's first major public romance was with Joe Jonas which began in July 2008 and lasted a mere three months when he is thought to have broken up with her for actress Camilla Belle. 

Taylor claimed Joe broke up with her in a 27-second phone call in the October of that year, telling Ellen DeGeneres: 'It's alright, I'm cool. 

'You know what, it’s like, when I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful When I look at that person, I’m not even going to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 27 seconds when I was 18.

'Those feelings were obviously not well received. I did not end the conversation. Someone else did. Phone calls can only last as long as the person on the other end of the line is willing to talk.'

And he added: 'Anytime you are in a relationship for any length of time there are going to be issues. Sometimes they resolve. Other times they lead to a change of heart. This was the case recently.'

Taylor is later thought to have written a song about Camilla, called Better Than Revenge.  

But Camilla was not best pleased and tweeted: 'No need for revenge. Just sit back & wait. Those who hurt you will eventually screw up themselves & if you're lucky, God will let you watch (sic).' 

Taylor enjoyed a four month romance with Taylor Lautner in 2009 and he was also lucky enough to get a song written about him, called Back To December. 

Seven years later, Time reported that Lautner was asked by Lea Michele what he thought of the song and he simply replied: 'That's what she does.'

He told Rolling Stone: 'It made me feel terrible. Because I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.'

Swift's song had the words: 'Dear John, I see it all, now it was wrong / Don't you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games, when I loved you so?' 

In an interview following the song's release, Taylor said: 'Everyone will know, so I don't really have to send out emails on this one.'

Meanwhile, Taylor's relationship with Conor Kennedy, the great nephew of JFK, lasted barely three months in the summer of 2012.

Friends close to the couple blamed the split on the singer getting too serious too fast.

Insiders says Taylor - who was four years older - freaked the then 18-year-old by coming on too strong - and because of her apparent obsession with his famous family. 

'Conor's just an 18-year-old kid and wasn't ready for anything super serious,' a pal told RadarOnline.com.

'But Taylor is looking for her soulmate and it kind of freaked him out with how strong she came on,' the insider went on.

The former couple reportedly called it quits for good in October 2012 when a photo of him kissing a model in Australia circulated around the internet.

They are believed to have started dating early last year but split due to their busy schedules, reconciled late last year but ended it for good following a row during a New Year's holiday to the British Virgin Islands. 

A source told RadarOnline at the time: 'Taylor was crushed over Harry the first time they dated, and like she always does, she penned a song about him to deal with her broken heart.
